Does anyone have this DVD or know if the material is any good on it?

materials are for stage act. Mainly, it teaches you how to steal stuff from jackets.in my oppinion i didnt like it because i dont really go to any ceremonies or anything like. i am happy with my mastering art of pickpocketing.

I have this DVD.
This DVD is strictly designed for stage pickpocketing.
You can apply it to real life street situation.
James Freedman teaches how to pickpocket a person dressed up in a suit.
He doesn't really teach how to do this with normal dressed people.
Well, you can apply the techniques though.
The Watchsteal part was horrible. He taught some good mechanics but there was only ONE performance stealing watches. I hated it.
He didn't show any performance of different watch types. He just goes over the techniques and that's it.

My opinion is that there is NO ULTIMATE GUIDE TO PICKPOCKET.
You just have to watch other people perform and practice a lot.
There are tons of books out there on pickpocket.
I suggest you to buy a few of these. They will all have different performance and methods.

I am considering to buy the Mastering the Art of Pickpocketing.
I heard that you can learn how to steal IDs. Is that like IDs around neck?
Not IDs on your chest? What other stuff does James Coat teach?

In STEALING THE SHOW, James Freedman teaches about:
How to steal 5 types of watches
How to steal a tie
How to steal a belt
How to steal a glasses while the spectator is wearing it
How to steal wallets(couple of different methods)
How to steal from all the different pockets when the spectator is wearing a suit.

This DVD is like $45. Some of the Penguin Competitors got it in their stock recently. So, if you want to buy this wait till Penguin gets it.
Even if it would take a while, Penguin is the best. Why don't you get it from the best magicshop with the best prices and best services?

One way to learn how to pickpocket is the informal way, pickpocketing from your friends cause it's easy to get close to them. I think stuff like pickpocketing is best learned through informal education than formal...

Hmm i have to disagree somewhat with that statement.

I think you need some training on basic technique and when to do it... then continualy applying it to your friends or whoever...

I have been pickpocketing for a littlwhile anyways. . . It's amazing I have the nerve to go upto someone I have not met and take something from there pockets ( I do return them; thats how I open my show's ).

And yet, I get all nervous when I do the actual magik. I am still working on it though.

Pickpocketing. It takes physics if you ask me, grab a text book write about the way people move, and put yourself in there shoes, like did you know if the body's equalibbrium is thrown off that you can take there wallet in an easy manner without much hassle.. depending on there pants you can actually get your hands into the back of them and grip the wallet with all fingers.

Thats also known as the Bump n' Lift method; I dont advice it.

The only way to do it is to go out and do.
The way to learn it is learn about the human body, learn about there thought process, The mind is the most powerful weapon, and you can use it against them! But first you must learn how.

My suggestion, Watch people for awhile learn the way the move the way the act. Sounds a bit like stalking but your just learning.

Then when you think you have figured out a method put it into action.

But NEVER just go in " I can pick a pocket " and try... It is NOT that simple.

A good way to give random people on the streets your business card could be to steal their wallet, put in your card and then put it back. Your card could say something like 'Hi, you've been pick-pocketed by 'NAME'. Everything has been returned and on the reverse of this card you will find my contact details' etc etc

The only dabger with this is that you could get yourself into SOME nasty situations.
