I worked as a busboy for a local restaurant a while back and when work got slow maybe 10 people in the restaurant, I'd do a simple routine. I'd start off with "Aces"
< After you have an ace on top of each pile the rest is showmanship. Snap your fingers a couple of times and TADA! This trick takes 3 minutes TOPS. It's really just the setup for the next trick though. "Burn The Card" is an awesome trick if I do say so myself. When you've done this AND feel the need to amaze and bewilder your audience you'rwe ready! Now go out to your audience When they finally end up with the card in their hand, tell them to burn it. Keeping one of their fingers over the index. When they've burned better than half of the card(you need enough ashe to cover your arm) take the ashe and rub it on your arm. The card will instantly appear, as did my 100 dollar tip! Be sure to have another trick up your sleeves or a fast gettaway because when done with the right amount of pomp and circustance, it's a killer trick. The only thing else I can say is that there can be no lagtime between Aces and Burn the card. Another awesome routine is Scotch and Soda combined with two card monte. Work up a casino introduction and patter and your home free. Heck if you want, try "Biting" the quarter you leave them with and you've guaranteed yourself yet another stunned audience. Just do it quick. Smooth and fast leaves 'em bleeding and screamin' for more! Enjoy these tricks from your friend the Mad Mixologist!

If you use chapstick it stays for QUITE a while. You can even apply the Chapstick 30 to 45 minutes earlier giving ample time for your audience to completely forget the fact that you left the table or had ANY chance to rig ANYTHING at all. A sure fire win everytime. Of course you could also use soap but, the liquid kind of defeats the purpose, it shows up REALLY bad, and the bar kind aren't usually anywhere other than peoples homes. Try shaving the chapstick to get a desired affect as well.

I have always used body wash & a Q-tip. About the burning part, I have them write their number on a peice of paper & fold it in half then burn the paper. It burns much faster then the cards do.
