I accidentally screwed up Ultimate 3 Card Monte for a girl at my school today (if you have it you can imagine what I did). Luckily, she had never seen the effect before, so I reminded her of how I had showed her an ace at the beginning. Then I acted like I had magically morphed it to what I accidentally showed her. Then I did a quick switch and pulled out a regular card and told her I morphed it back. It was a pretty good trick, although it had nothing to do with the monte effect. I was pretty lucky!

Once, I accidentally put the regular cards in my little wallet and performed the routine with them....unfortunately, I didn't realize what the heck I was doing untill the second phase. I was so panicked, I just kept going and finished the trick. My spectator was looking at me like I had gone stark raving mad....and in a flash of panick induced brilliance, I put the cards away and said 'I was just seeing if you were smart enough to appreciate a real magic trick.' I then went into a couple of other card tricks and I think I got away with it.
