What do i get to learn watch stealing?? I read the reviews on the James cotes thing, not to promiseing it looks like.

Myself I strongly believe that you cannot study pickpocketing like you can for magic. Pickpocketing is something you must play around with, and develop your own style. For a rough idea of pickpocketing, you should look into James Freedman(sp?)'s Stealing the Show. However most of hte pickpocketing on that dvd are used on stage mainly. CHappy Brazil also has the best watch stealing video out on the market called the Watch Steal which I believe is sold here on penguin.

Ya don't get the wrong idea, i'm not a crook but i love the look on peoples faces after they find there watch is a locked box, and they don't have any idea that you had it. I would also like to take a wallet out and do a trick where i'll make them a bet and i'll take out their wallet from my pocket. (i'm sure it's been done before) just i want to.

But look at the review on James Coats. People said they didn't like it.
"The title says it all; James Coats is excellent at stealing watches; and that's all I learned." SO hence i'm scared to buy it

Aside from an abundant supply of impromptu magic, he goes into great detail on 'playful pick-pocketing', really concentrating on how you can take someone's watch.

I really recommend this DVD.

i guess i seem to have a problem with everything these days. Greg Willsons dvd looks amature, i do mostly all the stuff on the demo, EXECPT watch stealing

Holy crud, are you kidding? Greg Wilson's DVD looks amateur? Do you even know who Greg Wilson is? Purchase the product before talking trash about it. On the Spot is one of the greatest DVDs I (and many other people) have come across. Look at the reviews for it, the DVD is fabulous. NOt only are the effects awesome, but Greg Wilson's performances set him in his own league above everyone else (well, mostly). The fact that you "do mostly all the stuff on the demo" (if that is true at all) isn't proper justification for saying that the DVD is "amateurish". The effects are awesome and what you see in the demo video is 1/10th of what you can expect. For example, if you didn't know who greg wilson is, I don't think you would know what Recap (the pen effect in the demo) is, or Florida Keys (the key effect) is.

Greg's watch stealing technique is... unorthadox. He uses a two-handed stealing technique as opposed to what most people do (1 handed) but it works for him, and very well I must say.

I agree with Ifkwee, Greg is great. Although some "SEEM" easy, his performance makes it a fabulous effect.
Don't get me wrong, ALOT of what I've seen lately are older routines updated, but that's what makes them SO great. Greg is a very good artist. His uncanny ability to make a situation seem more than what it is makes the basics he uses unbelievable.
Plus, try combining a few without concentrating too much on it. I have watched his vid's and he himself states it's pretty simple, but don't forget the folks he's showing has NO clue what he's doing. YOU on the other hand, have some foot hold in this field.
I'm not saying he's the BEST, I'm saying he's in his own rank. Keep your chin up and you'll realize what we're talking about.
