You have to remember that not all card tricks are bad. You could use a Six Card Repeat, or as mention before substitute the cards for something more familiar(i.e. Poke'mon, etc...) and if they are old enough(8 and up is what I say) you really can use cards, a great trick would be Cardiographic. You'll also want to look up Samuel Patrick Smith and David Ginn, they are two of the greatest kids show performers ever; google thier names and check out their site(very good stuff).

Well I dont use any card effects in my kids shows for the younger kids. If it is for older kids I dont use long card effects or where they have to remember a bunch of things either.

WHats next is a great effect.

Sponge balls you can do alot with them as well.

And balloon animals are great unless it is real young kids that would be trying to eat the balloons.

Well they are some things to think about as well.

And I am sure that most of the things I named are under $20.00 (U.S.).

-appearing sponge balls (one appears in my mouth and the other under b-day boys chair)

Thats all for now - with 4 or 5 tt tricks the show will probably be around 45 mins including patter/comedy. I think im gonna try to get fliers ou to all local elementary schools, and all family friends I have...with little kids.. maybe even my sisters friends.

Hey there,

I am planning out a kid routine myself and I noticed that its a lot harder then I thought. You need a good mixture of tricks, not just anything to fill the time. Each one should be magical with neat patter (I am sure you know that).

It is just my opinion, but I would be a little hesitant about using 5 TT effects in the same show. Maybe two of them is more ideal. It could be done, but it just sounds like too much!

Ok, well, if it's an outside show, then you should choose a spot, and examine it for angles that might give away tricks. Then, afte that, you should put some tape around so they know where they can and can't go.
