Honestly, when are you going to use a strait jacket? Its not the type of effect that you can lead into with some card tricks.

(I want one too, but I probly wouldnt be able to bring it to school)

CORRECTION!!!

You can lead into a straight jacket routine with card tricks!

I saw a really cool card trick with a straight jacket where a card is chosen, signed then put back into the deck. The deck is then shuffled by the spectator. Then they throw the deck into the sleeves of the straight jacket and put you in it. You escape, and find the selected card at the same time!

We must remember cards aren't everything. I have used a straight jacket at many SCHOOL events including the talent show. You can use a straight jacket for street performances (not strolling but as in at a festival busking type). You can use them in your shows and whatnot. Just because you don't use it in an everyday, normal, I went to the 7-11 for a drink context, doesn't mean you wont use it at all.

Roller buckles are better. They look more convincing.

I have been doing the escape since 1976. You don't absolutely need one trick to lead into another. Usually the only time I do that is when I am performing to music and I am not talking.

Get a real one. Try the "Posey" company. They make them for hospitals.
Good luck.

i don't have a strait jacket, but i really want one, i agree with the fact that it is difficult to make the strait jacket your first effect, but it makes a great finisher. When i get a strait jacket, i will be using it for things like, talent shows, and special events where people may come in groups, or u have a short amount of time and you want to make an impact

You might check out Ebay. I bought a couple of jackets from this guy on there. Look up the seller "PerformanceJackets". He has an Ebay store with ALL kinds of different jackets. Real and gimmicked, lots of different colors, and most of them are under $100.00.

Here's a link to his store:

He has some other stuff in his store right now, but if you go to page 2 in his store, and lok around, you'll find them.

I got mine for my B-Day and my parents got it on Ebay at Preformance Jackets. It's a D Ring and I love it. I can and do use card tricks as well. I like to have a more to a show than just cards, besides I'm really into escape stuff.
