Almost EVERY post is someone trying to get a secret of a trick without paying. I know people want to get their money's worth and everything, but sometimes you just have to pay the money and bite the bullet. It's not right to ask people, "What does it come with? Does it just do X or Y? Can you tell me how to X? I have it, but don't understand the directions, can you explain the whole trick to me?" All of these are just sad and I think it's a rip off to the people selling the tricks.

I hear ya, granted some people are honestly trying to see if the trick is worth it, but everyone else is just annoying.

Trust me, I know. I'm new to magic and have a limited income. I'm crossing my fingers that I win the 500 dollar penguin shopping spree. But I still don't think it's good to try and pry the secret away. I mean, for instance, the hummer card can be done with two very basic pieces of magic supplies, but I still had to shell out the money to get it. I don't think it's fair to say, "Oh yeah, all you need is some X and some Y and do blah blah". That's not fair to the inventor of the trick, Penguin Magic or to me. <br>

I suck at magic. But I have no desire to try and get tricks for free. Plus, knowing how to vanish a hankerchief or do a card trick doesn't mean much. Even the most basic tricks have to be practiced to look good. A person with no patience or respect like some of these posters will never have the patience or respect to be good at magic.

I agree. Wanting to know HOW to do a trick if it's not commercially available is one thing. Wanting to know what to look for is OK. Asking for advice is fine. Wanting to spend less for the same trick also acceptable in my book. Freeloading is CHEAP. I make my living off of this. I started with free tricks by mail. But at somepoint we all have to grow up.

GOOD LORD BUY THE TRICKS TAKE A RISK IVE RAN INTO MANY and i mean MANY crappy tricks if you think it might be cool jut go for it if you truly want to be a magician. People that want to know how the trick works cant find out how they all work ...even if the trick isnt how they thought it would turn out to be the trick may still be worth the reactions you can get from people i know i have a bunch of tricks that are dumb and easy and people get so amazed over nothing really

We all want to be good magicians, but unfortunately not everyone has the financial freedom to "just go for it". We have to ask opinions before we buy. That still doesn't give anyone the right to try and get the secret for free.
