Hello i am new to escapology, but i was wondering is there any good gimmicked handcuffs with out those little buttons on the side?

Yes they do make them. There are many different kinds. There are kinds that can even be examined. The kind I think you are referring to are the $5 kind you can get at Wal-Mart. Go to Cannons. For a good pair you can pay up to $30. It is well worth it. They also have a handcuff escape for $400. I don't think you would be interested in that though.

The ones to look at are the Darby Non Adjustable and the adjustables. There are others to look at.

When it says that they are gimmicked that doesn't always mean that they are examinable. If you have any questions on any certain kinds you can pm me.

These come in standard (ungimmicked ) and quick release ( bridge jumpers ). Almost 100% of the time bridge jumpers means non inspectable. Bridge jumpers were commonly used by Houdini. The concept behind bridge jumpers is this. You jump off of a bridge and into the water. After a while the escape artist makes his escape. Even though the escape artist was under the water the whole time this is just for effect. He has been out for a while. The bridge jumpers are gimmicked to the point that you can make your escape very quickly. When you talk about inspectable handcuffs they are gimmicked very cleverly. The spectator can look very closely and not be able to find out the secret. Bridge jumpers are not intended to be inspected.

Cannon's Great Escapes closed down a while back. The cuffs you are looking for are called "Jumper Cuffs." a Google search for that should get you what you need.
