The order of the cards plays a part, and the fact that the wavy lines and the star stand out to you. So, you will either pick the star or the circle.

But, he made it such a way that he never goes wrong. He made it so you had to text in, so you are the one guessing. So, if you got it wrong, you will figure you have no physic ability. If he had done the trick to you on the street but asked you to think of a card, he would have probably got it right.

But, on the street he can go wrong. Just as we saw with the £100 trick he did. If it is a competition and YOU are choosing what he is guessing, and you go wrong, you just think nothing of it becuase you do not know magic and mentalism or whatever.

Competition way, he will always win. Always.

Do you think that Derren sometimes fails on purpose, like for example he is performing a mentalism trick that has a 100% success rate like "Thought Transmitter", just to make it seem like it's real mentalism? Could he have done this with the "How much in your wallet" trick? You thoughts?

Well, he lost the £100 after he wrongly guessed the amount of money in the kid's wallet, and on Russian Roulette Reloaded he had six glasses of water, one of which was spiked with washing up liquid. He had to take a sip out of five and not get a mouth full of soap. He failed. In a live show he also lost £50 (I think) after making a bet and losing.

If you don't fail sometimes, people may start to actually tag on to what magic is... TRICKS!!!

With mentalism you've always got the out of 'my psychic senses are a bit off today. Nobody's perfect.

Was, okay, you could work out dome of his tricks i.e. he used suggestion for this and that for that, but not actually how he did them. The wallet guessing routine was good, just wish I'd been that kid.

The last ptrick was very good on explaining how to do what he did. It basically showed a sub-liminal suggestion script. Very Clever, you've just got to wonder how long it took him to write it???

I had to work it out. I tried the words "false deal" and then, when it refused, actually bothered with such cack as "incorrect deal" and "secondary deal" and things like that. God that system's a bit choosy about wording ;)
