I tell them I have a little helper, then I perform "Creature"....that totally freaks them out....especially when I spread my hands and there is nothing there, then I cup my hands again and the little demon creature appears again. I've had grown men scream like women when I do this.

No, it's not available through Penguin. It's an Arlen Studios effect. It gets really good reactions. I prefer to perform this in a dim light because it adds to the oddity of the effect, however, it can be performed in daylight.

The description reads:

or i'll do this: First i point to some guy walking behind the person who's asking me then say "THAT guy" then i slip away while they're looking, if you can pull it off with the right timing then spy upon them while they turn back around they'll be perfectly dumbfounded...

I'll admit.....I keep close guarded secrets when it comes to my close-up tricks. Even more so my stage illusions. However, I have been known to tell my Grandmother the method of a few of my effects. She's 82 years old......If she takes the secret to her grave......she probably won't have to keep the secret very long. Sorry Grandma.

She is the ONLY one, other than my wife, that I will show my method to. I had to show her how I did "Needle through the Arm"...I thought she was going to have a heart attack when I performed this. You should've seen her running around the house....OK, she can't run....but man did she MOVE that day!! I had to calm her down, "No..no..no...look..it's just an illusion.....it's not real....it's alright..." Same with the Balducci. Doing that in her living room was a mistake. She called her Pastor and they prayed for me ......She had trouble sleeping for about a month....she was concerned about my "spiritual well-being". Bless her heart....gotta love her. I finally had to show her so she could get some peace.

Here's an alternative. Don't actually answer. Just continue with your routine, or steer the conversation in another direction. They're expecting you not to tell them, so they won't mind. This is more appropriate for more mature audiences.

However, for younger audiences who won't leave you alone, I suggest on using the jokey responses.
