I have the Dixie Dooley DVD set. Should I start off with some simple rope escapes. Also what kind and where should I get rope? Thanks.

i suggest some ropes, handcuffs and the chains (just around your hands. no strait jacket or ankes yet.)

Where can I get some good rope?

Home Depot or your local Hardware Store.

Start with Rope. This will help you get used to contoring your hands in different ways to untie yourself.

One thing that I would do is sit and watch TV while tieing myself up. It's a little harder, but when you know how you are tied up in different ways, you leard different ways to get out.

Is it ok to use your teeth to get out?

I tend not to use my teeth. But it's up to you, and the routine.

Ropes is a good place to start. However when doing rope escapes there are more things involved than just buying rope. The type of rope is most important. Also depending on the effect, the length of rope. Believe it or not, it is more difficulet to escape from a "simple" rope tie, than perhaps it would be from something that looks more difficult.

Mess arround with different types of rope to begin with and have as many people as you can, not at one time however, tie you up. They will all do it differently so you will get more practice.

i got my rope at walmart for $10 and it was fine

I started with the Siberian Chain Escape. If you get one, be sure to get a really good one from Cannon's. They have a bunch of other stuff that's good for beginners.

If ya do the Siberian, buy a cheapo set, learn the secret, then go to a hardware store and pick up some bad@$$ thick heavy duty chains and a Master Key Lock, and weld the chains together to make a super duper Siberian Chain Escape. If you escape from a dinky lil chain, the audience is like, "dude, whatever." But do it with thick chains and they'll be all over you. That's what I do.
