What coins do you primarily use for your coin tricks? And why?

I apologize in advance for those not in the states... please tell us what you use too!

I typically use half dollars, because of the way they fit in my hands... and they have a nice ridge that makes it easy to grip in some of the palmings.

I use quarters and halfs. I use halfs a lot more then quarters.

I use 1964 Kennedy halves and 1942 Walking liberty halves. I use the Kennedy halves the most. You can pick them up for about $1.50 to $2 a piece at most coin shops.

I like halfs. Quarters have the advantage of being more ordinary - looking less like "props" - but there's something aesthetically pleasing to me about halfs. I like their feel and weight, and they are nice and visible. My C/S routine with a half and an (old) English penny is about my favorite trick to do, so that's another reason I have been sticking with halfs.

Some effects I use and are familiar with using pennies, nickles and dimes are for gimmicked effects (Dime & Penny, Nickles to Dimes, Pentro Penny, Electronic Pen/Penny, Killer Key).

Quarters: Coin Squeeze, Quarter Squeeze, Coin Funnel (which uses 4 quarters and a half dollar), Spellbinding Boxes, Nest of Coin Purses, Gin & Tonic, China Town Quarter and Zone Infinity.

Half dollars: China Town Half, Hopping Halves, Clever Coin Vanish, Close-up Die Box, Folding Half, Scotch & Soda, Coins Across, Coins from Silk, Silver Copper Brass Transposition, Copper/Silver, Lethal Tender, Copentro, Hook Coin and Wash-Out (brass washer to half dollar).

Other coins: Vodka & Orange Juice (gold US dollar and quarter), Scotch & Soda (half & Chinese coin, half & Mexican centavos, half & English penny).
