It cannot be spent as (I don't think) the queen's authorized it as official legal tender.

I need to get some half dollars, I think I'll spring on some American tourists...

"Have you got any half dollars? I'll buy them from you"

"Why"

"I'm a magician"

...

Might be able to earn some

Does anyone know what's easy to back palm?
Maybe my technique's bad, maybe I have big hands, but I find it impossible to get a grip on any English coins

I wouldn't use American coins in Britain, as people think they are gimmicked or that you need them large so that you can perform sleight of hand, which isn't good. I usually use 2p's and 10p's, although 10p's are a bit small.

Sorry to bump this, but it's a serious problem...

Can any of you back palm any english coins?
I haven't tried £2 coins, but 2ps are too small for me, unless my technique is terrible...

2p's work alrite for me
2 pound coins are a little big (for me)
maybe a fifty p will suit you best manic_b ?

anyways back to the american coins discussion, you can use them to add effect, and mysteriousness, also they work better, and they wont think they are gimmicked, because you had em out for examination

Well, I've got some old pennies, and I tried a 50p. No, my fingers are too big for backpalming. Looks like I'd better get a pinch down...

No I still say go for £2, they have great weight, bevelled edges and a great size (for me anyways).
