Anyone in this forum ever hung by their ankles and escaped from a jacket, even in practice?

I have a goal of performing this escape hanging off the side of the Space Needle here in Seattle, after I get the permits from the owners.

I don't think anyone's done that before... :?:

Not yet... but if you beat me to doing it upside down... tell me if it was fun or not. By that, I mean doing it upside down, not on the space needle.

Yes I have done it a number of times. The last time I did it I was suspended 80 feet. It was very windy and I was very nervous. I had also lost some weight so my ankle harness would not get tight enough so I had to be lowered and a guy with a leather punch in his pocket knife punched an extra hole in the strap so I wouldn;t slip through.

If anyone wants to see pictures go to:

Bruce, very impressive! :D

The Space Needle told me they would only do it if there was a direct business purpose or advantage for them. I proposed doing it as a fundraising stunt for a charity the SN is already associated with. They have been approached before, and only one time have they allowed a base jump from the upper deck.
