I was just wondering if anyone had any cleaver ideas on how to build hand strength quickly to start preforming the liquid metal routine?

Just do the routine, that's I got it. I didn't really have a problem with any thing except the key bend, which I can do now, with a skinny key.

I'm 14 I work out at the gym at the YMCA and there is this weight this with a string and handle tied to it and you hold your arms out and you roll it up till you cant roll anymore ....very good work out

this may sound stupid but get an old piece of paper and use 1 hand and crumple it up without using your other hand or your thumb trust me if you do it wright it works :lol:

I know its for guitars but its all the same

i built hand strength when i was younger by milking cows and swinging hammers. you would not believe the hand strength you will get from milking cows.

they sell grippers starting at 60 pounds of resistance (maybe a little stronger then storebought) all the way to 360 pounds.. which only 4 or 5 people have closed.. and everything inbetween along with all types of other grip toys.

This has been covered in many Liquid Metal threads and I see it was mentioned here.

You don’t need finger or lower arm strength. There are no special exercises required. All you need to do is practice the moves. The more you practice, the better you will become at the routine and additionally your hands will become accustomed to the moves.

Don’t over do it however, you need to keep your hands soft and non-callused. If you perform close-up magic, you want attractive hands. The spectators may not enjoy focusing on calluses, cuts and rough hands.

I agree that a close up magician should take care of his/her hands, manicured and looking nice, but I do hope that the main focus is the performers face and personality. Thats the true magic, the tricks are just by products... I hope that makes sense... I am not quite able to put into words what I am trying to convey.
