i agree with a lot of people here. this is usually how i solve this prob.

Heck: i know how you did that
Me: really? (act suprised) thats great! could you show us?

At this point, the heckler babbles on about how he CANT do it but he STILL knows how.

this is where i step in and start proving him wrong. saying stuff like:

-what's that? you cant? but i thought you just said you could?

-(or just use the one-line-heckler-pulverizers)

Yea, thats what i do. Haha, it's hilarious, I talk about things simaltaniously shooting behind my back or double palming then releasing, and make up all these terms. People usually just laugh and know i'm kidding. It's good fun though, I advise you use this method. Just make up sleghts and say thatd how its done.

I usually get that line from some younger spectator. That's one reason I don't go out of my way looking for kid shows. Adults usually have the courtesy to not blurt out something like that (but not always, especialy if they have been drinking mouth oil).

I will interupt them if they start to offer any explanation and say "It's great to have a fellow magician in the audience who knows we wouldn't want to spoil the mystery for the others. Let's talk more after the show." That has always worked because I go on with the show without letting them even get started again.

I just ask them to explain it, and whether they're right or wrong, I just grin and say, "yeah. that's exactly how it's done." The less sarcastic, the better, as they tend to get really embarrased without the rest of the audience thinking I'm condescending them... but you have to make it obvious that they're wrong.. maybe laugh, but look like you're trying not to..

Think of a way to imberassed just a little then we he does it agin emberass him a little more and more and more and so on

Magic. Also, you could say, yes, I know how I did that. Lets say stealth pen. I folded a dollar, stabbed it with a pen, and when I got rid of the pen, there was no hole. Or, you ask, did what?

Shoot him a mad-eyed, shocked look, lock eyes and launch in, desperately, with, "You KNOW about...IT...!! Have you found a way to send it back through the gate!?! Tell me! There MUST be a way to send it BACK...!!!"

Don't do that one to kids, though.
