The people I perform to, it would be insulting to their intelligence to try to persuade them that magic is real. I don't want that getting in the way of entertaining them. To say 'yes it is' and blank them? That's panicing, going into denial. I'm not going to get a crowd backing me on that point. You can get a crowd to support you that they're spoiling the show, but I've never had an audience go 'of course it's real!' sincerely. If you are that good, I applaud your skill.

That's sad to hear.

Well, I do perform magic for my teachers. They seem to appreciate it more. Every once in a while, I will do a trick on someone else.

it is known world wide that magicians do "tricks" instead of real magic. if not ppl wont question on how its done... first aknowledge that magic is an art, illusions or tricks whatever, it is an art of some sort. this will give the spec a general concept of what u do. instead of giving them the chance to think logicly, give them the idea that what u do comes in illusions , tricks , and maybe real magic but who knows. its not wrong to say that ur doing real magic, but making such a bold statement will cause ppl to "sort of" disagree with u and try to prove u wrong.

actually i just say i do effects or illusions telling them that im decieving their eyes. that gives them no chance to think logicly anymore cause what they see aint real ANYMOre!! provided u know how to convince ur spec. but this thing about doing REAL magic isnt much of an issue isit?

Myself: Thanks for the info.

as you know, all magic is done with mirrors. Your job is to find the mirrors

Don't do tricks for him. He's most likely not going to enjoy your tricks, soo it wouldn't be worth the effort to convince him.

Or, you could just beat him up, assuming hes smaller than you. That's prolly what I would do...

Magic isn't a puzzle. That kind of thinking set back magic way too far. The idea is to make people FEEL as if they've seen a miracle.

Doing the vanishing ketchup bottle, after failing to vanish the bottle I place it back in a paper bag and say despondently, "Yea, magic is not real."
While I do that I crumple up the bag completely, throw it behind me, and act shocked as I notice that it has vanished. It makes for great laughs.

If a heckler says that to me, "Magic is not real.", I sometimes agree with him and just do something ridiculously unexplainable and humorous. It is really funny.

If you can involve the heckler and get them laughing, that works best.
