I always carry an extra deck in my pocket (set up if the other deck is stacked) and if dropped you simple reach into your pocket and pull out the other one and continue.

You can use the line, as you can see, they are just a regular deck of cards which is why I'll use this one <say that as you remove the other deck from your pocket> OR the line "I just washed my hands and can't do a thing with them" usually suffices.

PSIncerely Yours,
Paul Alberstat

SAY i am the mindfreak, the cards dropping is an illusion, your card is here and pull it out the pocket, make sure you keep 52 cards in your pocket!

If you know how to palm cards off the deck, here is a possible out for the half fallen deck: If you did not drop their card, find their card and palm it in your left hand. As you go to pick up the fallen cards your left hand drops the chosen card in your pocket. Give the rest of the deck to spectator to shuffle. If their card did fall down (and you are sure of it), pick up the rest of the deck, look for their card in the deck. When you find it cut it to the top of the pack and apologize saying "I messed up, let me try this again". Hand the deck to someone to shuffle as the palming hand and the now empty hands go into your pockets as you wait for their shuffle to end. Leave their card in pocket. As you start the new trick ask in passing, "Just so this doesn't bug me all night, what was the card you picked earlier. (card is named) No way, that's impossible. I knew that..." Reach into pocket for big reveal.

If im performing for a bunch of high school boys, I just say that the "cards are having their special time of the month" and I take out a different pack. Its quite amusing.

Ha ha these are great!

But I have to say I don't so much like the idea of just leaving them on the ground and pulling out new cards. Because then the spectator is left not with the image/feelings from your closing effect, but with an image of you picking up your mistake as you move to the next table. Maybe that works for you, but I would rather fix the mistake (joke, then pick up the cards, whatever), then make them totally forget that ever happened by continuing with the effect.

Many good lines have been shared. Thank you. Now to share a couple of mine with you.

If I am working someplace that serves adult beverages... It's ok, nothing to worry about, thats the first drop I had all night. Then I pick up the cards.

Cards drop, I pause a moment and look at the cards, look at the participants and say [/i]I should let you know now, I am not playing with a full deck I pick up some of the cards and leave a couple lay there if it isnt a special deck.
