Dont you hate those people who ruin the 6 year olds magic show?
You know that guy its the guy who:
-flips his card around when the kid is using a stripper deck
-Grabs the kids props and explains to everyone how its done
-stops the kid from glimpsing "Hey, dont look at that!"
- Insists on putting the card in a spot he wants to
-makes the kid give him the card so he can show every one a "better trick"

Do you know any thing else this "guy" does? Post them here!

Hate them. My theory is to just do a trick that will blow his mind and he can't find any explanation at all. For example, do the Invisible Deck. Hewon't figure it out unless he grabs the deck. But here is what else people do:
1. Turn over cards in a (#) Card Montee.
2. Keep on grabbing cards off the table when you put them down.
That is about the only trouble I've had. What we all need to work on is Crowd Control. Everybody should know that.

Audience control is the key when preforming

I never blame the spectator, there is nothing wrong with a laymen expecting you to fool them, and if you don't completly fool them, some will rip you a new one.

Yeah, I hate those guys. Some guy exposed me in front of a bunch of popular kids in school.

I've never performed in front of him again. He doesn't deserve it.

I'm not sure, but I think the original post was about a 6 yr old doing magic tricks and older folks making him or her look bad. Some people have responded with "crowd control". At age 6?...that won't be possible.

Bottom line is...anyone who tries to make a 6 yr old look bad by exposing his/her tricks or just heckling them in general, is an @$$. That's all there is to it. They are just kids and they want to experience that moment of excitement. Of course the older you are the more you'll know, especially when compared to a 6 yr old. They will not have that knock-em dead effect or be able to pull it off effectively.

So that's when the parents need to step in.

Exacly what im talking about, I mean everybody knows how the 6 year old does it but its not fair for the little kid. He will get better as he gets older but if you expose the kids tricks it might scar him and he might never try magic again. Its one thing to try to figue out older kids stuff, thats what your sposed to do, but the little kid just wants to have fun and by exposing his tricks your wrecking it for him. Any1 who makes a 6 year old cry is a Jerk

I have twin 7 year olds who "wanna be like Daddy" and do their best, but of course, they're 7......at this age, encouragement is key......you gotta be "amazed"

I once saw a teenager tell a little kid (not mine) that he sucked.....never wanted to smack a kid so bad.......

those jerks just need to be strung up....

when i encounter people like that, i tell the boys to "take care of them".

The kid can`t do anything, but you can. If you see anyone being heckled, stand up. Especially if it's a kid to young to protect themselves. I'm so glad nobody heckled me when i was little. I may not be here if that happened.

I'm in total agreement. If I was at a party where alittle six year old was doing alittle show and an adult was heckling him, the heckler would become the heckled. You get a few adults teeing off on this jerk it'll shut them up real quick.

If you are at a table which is at waist level when you are doing card magic and you want to put a card down put the card near your crotch. They will not go near that card. It has worked wonders for me. Just don't do this for a bunch of drunk girls it could back fire.

If someone cuses trouble, just ask the person politely to leave. That's all. If they don't want to enjoy the show, they don't belong there. And make sure you keep a list of people (especialy pics) for your archives. Next time you perform, you can keep a close eye on him/her. Or you can tell that person that they are not welcomed to see the performance and have them hang with people his/her own age elsewhere.
