I know tons of tricks for kids. Mostly because thats my job. I work at Cosmic Adventures and now they require all the party hosts to preform simple magic tricks. But being one of the best there for magic (which coined my party host name "Mr.Magic") i know all the simplest tricks and age ranges to do magic for.

start with the age range of 4 and up, (any kid under 4 does NOT understand when things disappear)

age 4-6
-TT and Silk
-Sponge Balls
-French Drop
-Rabbit out of the Hat
-Floating Wand
-Rope Tricks
-colouring book

age 6-8
all the above*
-Simple Card tricks
-disinagration chamber
-cup and ball
-advanced coin tricks (matrix for example)

age 8 and up
all the above*
-standard card tricks
-fire tricks
-generally more advanced magic.

Kids are some of the hardest people to prform for. They don't always pay attention, they ask dumb questions, and they always want to see the trick again. don't give them the pleasure of the same trick twice. most kids will try to guess the trick and you hear the often said "i've seen this trick before" usually i would just reply jokingly "then close your eyes".

if you get a good set of kids as assistants, you'll have an awesome show. otherwise, DON'T work with children unless you understand how their minds work.

I think easily seen colorful props are a good start. Whatever equipment is used the performer MUST be very prepared for the unexpected. A semi-corny sense of humor is also helpful. I use the standards: Lincoln rings (ha-ha), magic coloring book, C and R rope, sucker die box, dove pan (though I do not do livestock), sponge balls and maybe mouth coils. Tadah. A kid's show.

I don't know if he ships to mars, but try contacting him and see if he can throw in the shipping for that price. I got mine from there and I won't tell you for how much, but it was a little less than the advertised price, including shipping.

Good luck.

Woohoo! 500 posts! I'm born to perform! Either that or I'm born to type.

Hello all,

I bought a joker tube in an Atlanta shop and I got home in Mississippi to find there were no instructions. Can anyway provide a scan of them or something equivelant.

Thanks a million for your time,
Dorian
