Cyril Takayama is the best magician in Japan right now. I've seen some of his stuff of youtube.com, and I think he blows David Blane away and is as good or better than Chris ANgel. The only thing Chris has over him is the levatation.

The only things Angel has over Takayama and Blaine are his camera tricks and paid actors.

By the way, Blaine is not spelled Blane, and Criss is not spelled Chris.

I never said his lev was a camera trick, how about his Building Float? Puddle Vanish? Manhole? And more.

What I like about Cyril is how well he preforms basic tricks. He takes $10 tricks form this site and makes them look like $50 tricks.

none of those are camera tricks...but define YOUR meaning of camera trick...shooting certain parts of an effect before the rest? or do you mean stuff on the computer to edit out wires etc?

Has anyone seen Cyril's performance of magic mints? His is the best handling of that (simple) effect I have ever seen.

if something is recorded and edited in such a way so that it's impossible to duplicate the end footage in real life, then its trickery. i love cyril takayama as well, he's a kind of hybrid like angel because both have stage and street magic specials.

His vids are my favourites to watch. Hamburger from sign, Lacoste Alligator, etc.

All great!

Cyril is one of my favorite "performers" or "entertainers", while he doesn't always do anything "new" to us or completely mindblowing. He knows exactly how to control the crowd and keep them interested. He could do one of the simplest of tricks/effects and everyone would be laughing and be astonished, including other magicians.

That and he just has a charisma where you could almost picture him as one of those guys you hang out with at a bar and randomly does a trick just to get the party started and break the ice.

^^I agree... he's one of my favorite performers to watch. I love his ability to play out effects into longer than you would think was possible.

He's Japanese/French born in America, if I recall correctly. His last name is very Japanese if anything.
