Hey everyone, I'm real new to penguinmagic and magic in general but I've been practicing a few tricks for quite some time. Before I perform any though, what would you do when someone asks you to do a trick again that can only be done once. For example, the STS.

Just say no. Honestly, it's all about experience. As you learn more about magic, you'll learn how to just say no to people.

Just find a line you like and stand behind it. Don't back down to the spectator, keep saying stuff and mean that you aren't going to perform again. I like to say im out of chi energy for stuff involving fire, electricity, or levitating, and for anything else say my magical powers need to recharge. I'll also just tell them I need to go reset my magical powers if they want to see something again, but I don't come back. The main thing is say something and stand behind it. Don't let the people watching take control, you are the magician and they are your audience, so you control them, not the other way. Just be like "why you already saw it, im not doing it again" or if you're making it out to be hard "do you really think i can pull that off again?" But of course later you can if you want.

Never do the same thing twice. The second time all they are doing is trying to see every move you make to figure out what you did.

Just say "Performing it once is entertainment, twice is a lesson. Entertainment is free, lessons cost $20.00."

Evilgenius, love that line! I nomally just move on with something to the effect: "If you liked that so much for an encore, you'll love this next one." Then do just that, move on.

Works better than the crowd killer I used to use: Why? So you don't pay attention for a second time?

Uh-huh.....

"Oh!....you're slightly confused. You see, I'm <slow and deliberately> a mag-ic-ian <end slow and deliberate>. You're thinking of <slow and deliberate again> a mus -ic- ian <end slow and deliberate>.

Musicians do requests, you see...I'm a magician....I don't do requests."
