Pretty cool deck. I've always heard of Svengali decks but didn't know what they were. There are a MANY things to do with this deck. I think a lot of the effects are the same, but you can do a lot of different presentations. A GREAT investment for the price.

Yeah!!! I LOVE the svengali and have many of them. The problem is that the spectators always choose the same card, so you can only use it once during a performance (unless you are creative). Anyway, here is a tip for you that is not in the book. Believe it or not you can actually shuffle the deck. Try it! It will be much more convincing to the audience. Also, if you want to fan the deck to prove they are "ordinary" cards, i suggest the mirage deck that is available here for $6.95. The backs of some of the cards a roughed so you will only fan the "non-forced" cards. This is GREAT for the "Now i made your card disappear from the deck" part of the trick!

Another GREAT idea with a svengali deck is use roughing fluid on it so you can shuffle the deck without any concern of them getting out of order. I made up an amazing trick with the svengali and using roughing fluid. It involves roughing fluid and 2 svengali decks and 2 jumbo cards. Roughing Fluid on this site is 5.99, but hairspray works just as well. Email me for details- SFMagic@hotmail.com . ~Josh~

Well, using roughing fluid would not only allow you to shuffle the deck, but also to show it as a normal deck as one of the guys said before. It would look much better if you could fan the deck as well as riffle it to show that it was a "normal" deck.

It is possible to riffle shuffle a svengali without a single card getting out of order. Watch my demo vid and you can see the technique.
