I get that done to me some times like if I show a trick to one person the whole class has to see it and I'm not set up. But you know what's annoying? If you do it again, the person that you showed it to before mighnt figure it out then tell everyone. So if you want to risk them figuring it out just say that you have to go to the bathroom then set up in a stall. Or you can just say that your magic powers have ran out if you do not want to do it again or some thing. Was this helpful?

Oh by the way why is this in outs and one liners? Are you trying to find a joke to say to them or something?

Two possible ideas come to mind: either you could announce beforehand that you'll only try it once, and when you succeed, and people asked you to repeat it, you have a reason not to.

Alternatively, if you have found you are asked often to repeat a trick that you can't repeat, and you can't avoid those situations, even when using the technique I mentioned above, you'll just have to lose the trick from your repertoire.

Have something like Saw or Stigmata ready to go, and if they say that, then say,

"How about I show you something else, like, [insert killer trick description here]!"

This is one of the problems you face when you show off your "tricks" instead of doing a controlled performance.

In the future, don't show your friends a gimmick trick that you need to go off to reset, unless you have other effects to show them.

Example: you open your performance with the STS to get their attention. After the initial WOW, you have something, such as ACR or a coin routine that is mind boggling.

Don't just show one trick with nothing to back it up.

or you can learn how to do it on each shoe, so if that happens, be like well i can do it with my left foot too. or just be like, hey my shoe is tied, why would i want to untie it again.

my favorite way to get out of that though, is to say ok watch, then get this look of horror on your face and point up in the ceiling area, then when everyone looks, run away like a scared baby.
