Well it depents on what reaction you want from your audience. I think flourishes detach the magician from the actual "magic" because it looks to rehearsed. I mean, I use some flourishes but never XCM sort of stuff because it makes me seem "to in control." To me, I would not want to be called a machine, because I dont think I give my audience a reason to call me that. I want my audience to think I am almost, if not, completly out of the control I have on the "trick" that I am doing. But, on the other hand, if I was an XCMer or an extreemly fast producer of things, I think that would be a great compliment. I think it just depends on what you want your final outcome to be. So in the end, its neither good, nor bad.
