Is this the Encyclopedia of Card Magic - Jean Hugard (Card Magic) in classics? I can't tell because the name is a little different.

WONDERFUL POST! In all actuallity, there is alot there even for the advanced students of magical arts.

So here is my question to you... There is a limited amount of money that someone has to spend, lets say $25, what is the top suggested title for the money? Either book, dvd, or video.

And a simple suggestion for those that have a limited amount of money, check out your local public library, you may be surprised as to what you find in the dewy decimal system!

Depends on which magician you speak with, lol. If you want just one answer, go to your local library and check out the Tarbell series (all of them!) It's an enormous amount of material for free.
Offbeat, I also suggest Henry Lorayne's Memory Book and Secrets of Mental Math by Arthur Benjamin. Read them and you'll see why they're recommended.
Remember, magic is 99% performance and 1% effect.

Tarbell at a local library? Since when? I have never seen the course, or even one book in any public library. I doubt they would risk that much shelf space for something that would be rarely taken out, and most would not even be able read one book after 3 renewals.

Also it would be very little use renting it from the library, as there is far too much material in the set to take in over a few weeks. Heck I have not even taken it all in yet in almost 30 years, and I own it!
