i got tired of people asking me so now i jokingly say that i learn them from my underground meetings on saturday nights.
even doing an ACR for my freinds freeak them out so they beleive me.
then i say just kidding..

I have used this one all the time. It usually shuts spectators up on the subject and they wont ask again. If they do, just ask mad and say something like "I TOLD YOU I HAVE CONNECTIONS!"

don't tell people you learn it from the internet or DVDs. you don't want people to think it is something you can just learn. you don't want people to think "oh, i'ma go buy some magic tricks"

i tell them i learned it from other magicians.

Or when they say How did you do that,!? i look at them maugh and answer very surprised " I seriously dont know it just happened!" and laugh with them.

Me: (with a slight smile and a shrug of the shoulders) "Magic!"

Well most people know that a good magician isn't going to tell you how he did a trick, So to me, this is just a trick question. By giving this simple answer, it says all the right things. First, it says that I'm not going to tell them, then it tells them in a funny way "A stupid question deserves a stupid answer." It may not work for everyone, or fit everyone's personality, but I find it works perfect for me. Here's another one I like, that I stole from somebody, but I don't remember who.

Spectator: "How'd you do that?"

Me: "Camera Tricks"

That's about all I can come up with off the cuff, incidently I have used the bible one and the next day seen about 3 people flicking through them when I see them at school the next day. I doubt you will like these at all but they seemed like a good idea at the time.

Me- Charlie tauht me them
Spec- Who's Charlie?
Me- He's standing right next to you. ( point to empty space)

The specators will either laugh or think that your on crack cocaine.

Theres a kid in my class thats called Charlie so that works just as well.
