I can almost assure you that you have not been exposed to a host of punk/rock/screamo bands, sounds, etc.

If so, you wouldn't be saying "I like the Used and My Chemical Romace".

it's no coincidence that you happen to like the most mainstream bands, which are horrible representations of the punk rock/screamo genre.

Go listen to some real music before saying that you like punk rock and screaming.

Go show your friends your cool biting quarter and tying shoelaces, while you're at it.

-_-

Yes I can. That's what the media does to you. That's why you like Senses Fail and MCR. I will put money on it you never would have listened to MCR had I'm Not OK been a hit. Did you listen to them before that song? I'm not telling you who to listen to, society is. All those bands are Hot Topics wet dreams.

Right now my two favorite bands are Iron Maiden and Dream Theater.

A couple of my other favorites...
Megadeth
The Who
Phish
Metallica
Rush
Pink Floyd
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones

Honestly, I'm a fan of anything that requires talent. I love my CLASSIC Heavy Metal and Hard Rock, but I'm a very big Prog fan as well. I enjoy jam bands too.

It also annoys me when people list Led Zeppelin/The Who/The Beatles as their favorite bands, yet know nothing about the music, the band, or the history. People who name drop lose a lot of respect in my book.

Because they are? That's like asking why was blink 182 mainstream? And also MCR sold out like it's going out of style, but I;m not getting into that
