The new modern coin magic?

I have been thinking of buying Modern coin magic by Bobo but have realised that I could get The new Modern coin magic instead.

Is it worth the extra $20 they are selling it for?

New Modern coin magic? Never heard of it. Is that the hardcover edition that some people have been talking about?

Yeah, I think it is the one with the hardback cover.

It has some new effects but I find it hard to believe that it is worth that much more.

Yeah, the regular soft cover edition is already more than enough of a book. I'd just get the regular edition, it has tons of stuff in it and it is extremely cheap.

The paperback is agreat book, and I do mean great, but if you are a serious coin worker or want to be one the hardback is worth the extra money, it has a lot of updated material in it from the Dai vernon era. I realize that dai Vernon may not be considered a recent era but the book was written in original form a good time before his popularity. The hard back also erxplores a lot of the newer gimmicked coins not around at time of original publication. A great investment.

Do not, and I mean do not waste your time and money on the softcover Dover version. Get the hardback. NEW modern coin magic is really the only way to go. Believe me, if you get the softcover only to find out you should have gotten the hard cover, you will be dissapointed. If you really want a good, modern book, get Roth's Expert Coin Magic. Of course, Penguin doesn't carry either the New MCM or Roth's book . . .grumble grumble

I see what you mean, but respectfully disagree with you. The softcover version is still awesome, and is filled with sooooooo many valuable sleights and tricks. Plus, it's only 10 bucks, and some people may not want to spill out the 35-40 dollars for the new version yet.

I recomend the new version, it has alot more stuff, and for the extra money, it's well worth it. But if you want some more advanced coin magic, there is a REALLY good book (the name eludes me now, but it's something along the lines of "Destroyers" or "Defenders") very good book, look for it.

Yep, the book is called "Destroyers: the Superlative Magic of Troy Hoosier" and is written by Joshua Jay. I have been interested in that book for a while now, mainly to learn the Charming Chinese Challenge routine.
