Hi,

I have a question.
What about the european customers?
Have we to pay Foreign Shipping (11.95$)
just because they aren't able to make the european penguin magic work?
I can't describe how pissed off I am!

I am not supporting higher shipping costs, but if the stuff is being shipped from the US, there is going to be higher shipping costs. When I purchase from overseas I have to pay the higher price. It is just a fact of life.

Hi,

I DO know that.
But if they let the european shop go to seed
they could at least maintain free shipping?!

And what's that?

Update for European Customers

For faster service, please place your orders through www.penguinmagic.com. We apologize for any inconvenience.

For faster service???
Are you kidding?
It will take 3 or 4 months until I get my order.
"We apologize for any inconvenience."
That's definitely in no way satisfying!

Shame on you!
This used to be my favourite magic site.

It's faster service because you don't have to wait (as long) for products to be in stock.

Where are you based, Magic_Morpheus, and why will it be "3 or 4 months" until you get your order? Surely, three weeks tops.

Hi,

OK, that's my fault.
Of course I meant 3 or 4 weeks!
(Germany)

But want I want to say is:
They can't be serious, if almost everything is out of stock in europe
then they let the customers buy from the USA and let them pay high shippings costs? Is that a solution for them?
This way they will lose many of their customers
because the free shipping was a huge save for customers.
Becuase of that the penguin products are alyways a little bit cheaper than products from other salesmen and the free shipping,
you could always save 4-10€. And now? --> No advantage,
I'd say rather more expensive!

 NO FAIR SOLUTION!

I have to agree with every word that "Magic_Morpheus" sayd.

I'm mad aswell cause now I have to pay 11.95$ for shipping if want to buy just for example: flash paper ... 7$ + 11.95= ... DUDE, that's too much.

Everyone who lives in the US or CANADA get's it for free. We used to get free shipping from the UK. Now its gone and we have order from the US. SUCKS hard.

That's exactly what I mean, that makes me and probabely every european customer so goddamn sick!

 So the question is:
What can we do?
As already said I really like penguin magic
it's (one of) my favourite salesmen.
But if it goes on like this I'm forced to change my saleman,
it's that simple!
And matter fact, I won't be the only one who's gonna leave.

not being funny, but you clearly are going to be someone that works for someone else not making much money all there lives. A business needs to be profitable, it clearly was not profitable to keep open the UK store, nor is it to offer free shipping to europe. Why not buy from somewhere else if you are unhappy.

Hi,

@ benlewis2004:
First of all, your arguments are evident.

But where you gonna order now?
You're also from Europe/England.
I don't think from penguin magic, do you?
Most likely from some saleman in England, right?

That's what I am thinking of.
But for me, penguin magic was my best source for magic products.
This source seems to be died out...

You guys have no reason to be mad at Penguin. You're assuming Penguin Magic is a UK vendor. It isn't: It's a US vendor with a branch in the UK. The branch was unsuccessful for whatever reason so they had to close it down. That doesn't mean you have the right to say they're a bad company. By all means you have the right to shop somewhere else but you can't blame Penguin.

We are not mad. It just SUCKS! And I think that the UK site was good, cause There were a lot of EUROPE people who actually bought stuff from there. But you know what the problem was? EVERYTHING WAS OUT OF STOCK! (does that mean it didn't sell that good?) maybe ... don't know.

but ... bah

Hi,

that's it. The inquiries for the products where relative high
and that's why most of the products were out of stuck or am I wrong?
(There wasn't enough supplies of products)
It's just sad that the european page has been closed. :(
I'd give much for it if it'd re-open again! :)

I hope you know what I mean.
It's clear that a shop will close when they aren't making profit,
but that's ain't and wasn't the case imho.

For me it looks like they let the european shop go to seed.
And that f*ucking sucks and that is the problem,
maybe not for them (I'm sure they make a good bargain in the US)
and perhaps not for you.
But you can be sure, for me and many, many others.

A possibility it lost money was because of all the shipping it did to get items to the UK warehouse. Usually the european customers would be paying their $11.95's to get the products over the Atlantic, but the Penguin decided to do it for free when sending stuff to the UK warehouse.

Maybe it was the lack of $11.95's that resulted in Penguin UK being closed down, but who knows?

I heard that Timah was embezzling from Penguin Europe and that is how it went broke....
