I have been doing Morgan Strebler's Liquid Metal routine.
I can do it with the brand of forks they suggest, but some forks are just too hard to do it with.
Now I work in a kitchen, so when I perform there I am afraid of someone asking me, "Can you do it with one of these forks?". I can do just a couple moves with their forks, but not the entire routine.
Any lines I could use to let them know I am only going to use my forks, and not the kitchen's?

How about not repeating the routine because you shouldn't be repeating it anyway?

I have only performed it once at my job. And no, I dont perform for the same people twice.

Then you needn't worry about people asking you to do it with their fork if they haven't seen it yet...

Your call, you can-

Wait until you are strong enough to do it with random forks.

Make excuses re: being unhappy about destroying other forks, or that you're working and can't focus enough, or you're too tired...

Or just do the partial routine.

Pick-up Banachek's PK Silverware DVD. He explains some great moves and optical illsions that you can use and then bend the fork with the full force of your arms. This should make it easier.

The great thing about any 'psychic' effect is that you can fail completely...and still win since the failure 'proves' your legitimacy.

I don't understand how failure proves your "legitimacy".

The thing with "psychic" effects is that if presented correctly, it's not a sure thing. It's understood that sometimes it will fail. That's why many "psychic" entertainers state that they don't know if it will work or not. There are many outs as well, like saying the energy just isn't there. And the failure shows that it's not trickery, that there really has to be something to it. Because if it was trickery, it would always work.

I'm sure Dr Stephen Midnight could explain it better, but I just gave my best explanation.
