eh... to me I dont think so but thats just me. If you are really good (really really good) then I think you'll be ready in about 1 year =D

I don't think it's the age that matters. I think if you have the skill, the confidence, and the presentation, go for it. You'll never succeed if you don't try. But, I'm just playing the Devil's advocate here, some people might not take a 13 year old as seriously as say, a 16 or 18 year old. I say try it, and if it doesn't go over well, practice, practice, practice, then try again at a different place.

Simply, no, you aren't old enough. It doesn't matter how much skill you have, you are not old enough. For one, you can't even legally work.

It doesn't matter how good you are at close-up, restaurant magic has other factors to consider.

What sources do you have on the subject?

You first must be comfortable in front of a crowd of complete strangers, ready with the right theme songs, and know how your tricks/props work.

I'd say if you ever placed less than first in any kind of talent competition, you're not ready.

Oh, and if you own a tux with a red cumberbund, forget it!

I hope your whole alot better than your stage.

And as others said age isn't the key. Though I doubt you have the experience or knowledge to take on such an act yet. you still have a lot to learn, and i mean a lot- magic wise and life wise.

Please, type like a normal person, and don't press enter when you should put commas. And when you come out and say you're amazing at close-up, what I'm automatically going to think is that you're not nearly as good as you think you are.

You are old enough to perform. May be not a paying gig but you can start getting your feet wet.
Perform for friends and family. Work on routines and effects. Perform for strangers at the mall or teachers at school.
Get out there and do the magic if you feel you are ready.
I just would not start declaring your self a professional magician and charging people to do 2 hour walk around shows.
Check out Gomagicgo.com and their begineer series, it takes you thru the royal road to card magic the book and Andrew and Keith give some great info on performing and getting ready.

Flight, you are 13, the comments you get, and will get do not mean that you are, as you put it, "amazing at close up." What they are saying is "what a cute little kid."

Don't go out and try to pretend that you are David Copperfield just because you use his pic as an avatar.

If you're only 13, people won't take you seriously; this is especially so if you are wearing a tux. No matter how good you are, the reactions will be about "Ohhh, look how adorable you look." rather than about the magic.

I suggest waiting a few more years. If you are as advanced as you think, then 16 would be an alright starting place.

However, there are alot of situations that you will need to know how to handle. Alot of stuff can happen in a restaurant, and you as the magician need to be prepared. For this reason, I suggest waiting till you're 18+.

I'm not sure if it's already been asked, but what rescources do you have on restaurant magic? What effects where you intent on using and in what order?

I agree, wait until you are about 17 or 18. People will respect you more then, and that gives you plenty of time to be beyond perfect at some good routines, which is where you will need to be to be doing paid performances. And remember, when you go and ask to be hired somewhere, it won't be much fun when the manager doesn't take you seriously because of your age. I think that would be more than a little embarrasing.

You should actually learn some proper english. People might hire you then. Just a thought.
