I like Blaine more, but I have met Angel, and I must say, he is very nice. I don't like that Criss uses stooges and camera tricks, but at least he entertains people. I think he should stick to stage magic, because that's what he's good at.

I never said he wasn't good at getting viewers, I know he's very good at it. I just think that his show is not a way to entertain people, but rather a way to make money. If he were truly in it for the art, I think he would've stuck to close-up and stage magic, which is where he excels in my opinion.

I know what he meant Tony, I am just being argumentative, that is my specialty :D .

I chose Blaine, he paved the way for half of the kids here, so I give him that. Angel is all about himself, and while his show is entertaining, it lacks that wow factor like Blaines' specials have.

i agree, i respect him in the fact that he has a sucesful show and some good effects bu i really dont like that he uses "camera magic", stogges etc. also that like the post above me, i think that Angel does most of his shows for money and doesnt have that WOW factor that Blaine's specials always have

these topics are always risky. They almost always end in a verbal battle between a person who likes blaine and a person who likes angel... at least, they did, until for a while there we didn't have any polls like these.

It depends on your definition of "street magic." IMO, neither Blaine or Angel perform street magic, simply either walkaround or stage magic, performed outdoors.

Does this look like close up to you? This is street magic at it's finest.

Think of the economics. Do you want to perform for one or two people for a buck or two at a shot? Or do you want to do the same amount of magic for 100-200 people for a hundred dollars or more at a time?

Niether of them have good presentation. Blaine is still more well-known to laymen. Criss Angel is more popular in the magic world. Most laymen I talk to about Angel are convinced that he uses stooges and camera tricks for most things (I haven't pushed them either way).

I like Blaine better, though. He made a bigger mark in magic (in a good way *cough cough Valentino cough cough*) and is genuine, except maybe for his levitation.
