Im going to be auditioning for Gerry Griffins shop in 2 weeks to be a table hopper every Friday, and Saturday, to me this is a huge deal, its really hard to get in, and it would be the best gig ever because then I get to see hundreds of world famous magicians for free, and I feel every magician should strive to see others, so this is my chance, and I don't want to blow it.
I am already good friends with Gerry, so I think he might cut me some slack, and he knows Im serious about magic, but there are about 15 other people trying for the gig too, so I need all the help I can get.

The only Gerry Griffin DVD I have is 40 Ways to Force a Card, but I love it.

I like it too.
I have all of them, they got me started in magic.

some tricks are good, but the main reason I went for NO is because his presentation or explanations are BORING!!!!!

What? That is so awesome!! I can't believe you didn't mention something. I am so proud of you!!! You will do a great job, I have absolutely no doubt!

Laura has been really nice to D. in the past and has told her to start working on a close-up act so that she could audition. Of course, D is no where near ready to audtion yet as she has always focused on stage magic, but how cool would that be if you could both do walkaround some day?

You are 100% right about the opportunity that will open up for you getting to meet and learn from the magicians. That is what D loves most about going to dinner there -- meeting with the magicians afterwards and talking with them. Same for the lectures.

As to Gerry's DVDs, I love them, and his demeanor. I find him very likable and enjoyable and he is an excellent teacher. We have his complete large set and several of his individual DVDs as well.

Please let us know how the audition goes. I wish you luck, but you won't need it -- you're polished and ready. Go for it!

For anyone not familiar with Gerry Griffin's California Magic Dinner Theatre, it is a spectacular place to visit in the Bay Area. It was also featured on "Bay Area Backroads" not long ago.

California Magic provides excellent performances by top magicians, both local and world renowned. It is the perfect evening out! The best part, unlike the Magic Castle where you have to belong or know someone, Gerry and Laura Griffin's place is open to the public!

We have spent several *magical* evenings there and it is always a truly enjoyable atmosphere filled with fun, laughter, and camaraderie.

I highly recommend everyone visit and enjoy a show!
