A magician isn't a nerd unless they present themselves as one. Use a two-foot long magic wand, dress up in a top hat, and talk about ancient rituals, then yes, YOU ARE A NERD.

But if you stay cool, put some sarcasm in your patter, and dress up nice (this includes hair and shoes), you can avoid the nerd thing completely...

Or you could just be like Criss Angel and sport the "emo" look. XD

If you are called a nerd, you might want to work on your presentation, rather than dissing the other guy. That can just make you out to be the [edited], not him.

1st) being a nerd depends on the person.
not on the trick you are doing. Performance and presentation are everything.
If you are a nerd and you are presenting your magic in a nerdy way, maybe you deserved the statement that the heckler gave you.

2)If you dont like being heckled try improving your performance, dont mimic other magicians performances. I REPEAT, DO NOT MIMIC OTHER MAGICIANS PERFORMANCES, IT WILL NOT FIT YOU AND YOU WILL LOOK [edited].
look at who you are, what makes you unique and work on that. Over time it will improve your performance.

3)YOU WILL NOT GET HECKLED IF YOU ARE GIVING A GOOD PERFORMANCE.
I dont know how many times i've told n00bs this.
im being very serious, if your performance lacks presentation of any kind, YOU WILL BE HECKLED.

4)Attacking the heckler back makes you a whiney magician that cant take a joke.

Heckling doesn't always have to do with presentation. I'm sure Gazzo gets heckled, and he's one of the best performers in the world, IMO. Yes, normally it does have to do with presentation, but not all the time.

I have never been called a nerd for doing magic tricks. Then again, i just don't fit the image of a nerd. I think it all depends on the person.
