Yes, I work full-time all winter. I do take the summers off however, as I enjoy a vacation once in awhile.

I used to do the occasional show, but now have taken a break after I figured out I needed some extreme work and needed to make my show better. I hope to do a lot more shows and get myself out there by the end of the up-coming summer.

Right now I am a hobbyist because 1. I am fairly young
2. I feel as if I need more practice even for effects I have mastered and have been performing for a while.

But I will occasionally perform for my school if I am needed/asked you get it...

I do not do xcm for money because of the fact that I am 13 but I think I am good enough. It may be a good thing I am to young I would want the spectators to get what they payed for and the better I am the more entertainment they receive.

I don't advertise for work, but whenever I'm asked (referrals and word-of-mouth) I'll do a paid performance.

I also don't force my magic on people (like some sites who seem to think that magic was invented to go harass people waiting in line for the bus). I wait to be asked (at social events and such), usually more than once, before I do an impromptu routine (no more than 3 tricks). By then I know there is general interest in the performance and not just a group of people that are bored and want something to entertain them.

GREAT point BB. Magicians have to realize that if we go to a party we are a guest, if we bring a deck of cards we are the party. we become the main entertainment.

My friends know that if they invite me to a party I am not going to upstage them, if they ask me to entertain, they get a bill on the spot for $200.

I perform at school for a lot of people, but there's no money envolved. I someday wish to do paid magic shows.
