If you're looking for something small, do a pair of D'Lites, a Lite-Flite, or just make something float with an ITR. If you want something big (and have the cash), I think MUSLE would do the trick (no pun intended).

GET A FAKE TT. VERY VERY GOOD PROP, ESPECIALLY FOR STAGE. HERES A GOOD OPENER : "TODAY I'M GONNA TEACH YOU ALL A MAGIC TRICK THAT YOU CAN ALL PERFORM. ARE YOU READY?? OKAY THEN, PLEASE STAND UP" *AUDIENCE STANDS* "YOU MADE YOUR LAPS DISAPEAR!" KINDA DUMB, BUT LOOSENS UP THE MOOD FOR THE REST OF YOUR SHOW.

I think the best thing for a talent show might be a mentalism act. Get Annemans "Practical Mental Magic" or Fulves, "Self-Working Mental Magic". This way you get a big effect and don't have to worry about stage props. Stage is hard because you need slightly bigger props so everyone can see. Plus, mental magic gives you some easier patter and involves everyone in the audience. You do a good mentalism act, and you'll win.
