"Learn the snap deal from the real deal. Eric Tait's handling of this clever move is devastating. Eric Tait is a real triple-threat in magic. Amazing sleight of hand, extremely funny, and he has the best beard in magic." -John George

"Erik Tait does card magic that I love. Why? Because it's entertaining and he is not afraid to use the right tool for the job."- Jon Armstrong

"He does the Snap Deal better than anyone on the planet."- Farrell Dillon

"Erik is a beast."- Brent Braun

"Erik Tait has superb skills in card magic, comedy, and holding boxes over his head for extended periods of time for illusionists! His ability to perform the snap deal and make it look effortless is proof!"- Chastain Crisswell

"I count on Erik to teach me how to do the hard stuff. You should too."- Nick Locapo

What will he teach?

Marking Giobbi Extended- Two people take portions of the deck and deal down to random cards. Those cards make the value and the suit of a random card that the magician has dealt to. They are then swapped to create a new card and the magician's card changes to match.

Grandfather's Criss Cross- An apparent mathematical mystery in which the magician uses the top card of the deck to always know the identity of a card randomly cut to by the audience.

It's Not A Triumph It's A Transposition- Two people think of cards, and then the deck is shuffled face up into face down. The deck rights itself leaving one of the audience member's cards face up. It is placed aside and when the deck is spread again the card that was just placed aside is found face up back in the middle of the deck. The face down card on the table is discovered to have transformed into the other selection. This routine includes Erik's secret to selling "The Magician In Trouble Plot" and includes an easy to do but deceptive card switch.

Faking The Middle- The magician tells the audience to legend of the center deal and then offers to show it to them. Ten cards are randomly distributed face up throughout the deck so the audience can see the moment the middle deal happens. The magician then successfully deals the ten face up cards from the deck at will. An amazing routine to make an average card handler look like a legend. A highlight in Erik's theater show.

Mandella Effect- The magician describes the Mandella Effect, and how sometimes we can't remember reality correctly. After confirming that the deck is indeed in a random order it is revealed to have separated into red and black. The magician very obviously shuffles the deck, and still the colors remain separated. Finally to prove it's not him the audience shuffles the cards, and the cards still will not mix.

The Snap Deal-Erik's work on the Snap Deal has been regarded by many top pros as incredible. Erik tips a lifetime of studying a move that he credits as the sole reason he studies card magic.

Vanishing Deal- Erik details his touches to using the snap deal to vanish cards that have attracted him attention from all corners of the magic community. (Warning: When people watch Erik vanish a card they very often swear in surprise.)

Snapped Across- A brand new way to do cards across with no palming.

The Expanded Colour Deal- An expansion on a classic Lennart Green Snap Deal application with a surprise ending.

Who is he?

Erik Tait has won awards for both standup comedy and magic throughout North America. He graduated with honors from the prestigious Humber College Comedy Writing and Performance program, which means Erik can academically prove why he is hilarious. Beyond that, Erik is the only magician in the world with a degree in funny. He has put academic theory into practice on some of the most prestigious stages in the world, including The Magic Castle, Second City Toronto, and the Hollywood Improv. His client list has some of the most recognizable brands in the country including Honda, Macy's, and Bark Box.

Erik has also earned raves as an acclaimed burlesque host in both Los Angeles and across the Midwest. In recognition of his talent, Erik won the title "Master of Comedy" at the Burlypicks International Burlesque and Variety Arts Competition. Erik's quick wit and easy-going demeanor have made him the perfect host of Quiz Box, the popular live game show that plays to packed audiences at Columbus, Ohio's Shadowbox Live. But Erik has not restricted his creativity to live performances. As both artist and writer, Erik is the creative force behind the beloved web-comic "Beatnik Beat." Finally, Erik has been featured on Sirius/XM radio, and his debut standup album, Nerd is the New Black, is available on iTunes.

Whether it's standup, magic, or hosting, you will not want to miss this hilarious, multi-talented performer!

Wished he shared a few more effects Report this review

This lecture was good, but most of the effects are waaay too hard to pull off. I would have rather had him teach more effects that are easier to perform. He also goes through the explanations pretty fast.

Erik The Great!!! Report this review

I have over the years collected many DVDs to help with my magic on many different subjects. I counted 11 DVD’s on card magic in a partial collection that I have with me now. Erik shows us how to use many different moves in a way I’ve never seen before. And he shows how to put methods together one may have never thought of doing before seeing this DVD. The opening routine, he used a a simple force we all know but applied it as a small part in a bigger effect. Then he goes on and dives into some seriously great card magic putting simple, and very complicated moves into routines so great that one would think this guy isn’t a comedian, he’s a life long card magician. This is a DVD that any magician interested in improving their act with a bit of humor and some serious card magic needs to see.

Eirk is a true one of a kind, comedy is amazing. Yet, very easy to learn from and his magic is just mind blowing. Everything he does flows and that snap change is killer

Funny and Entertaining Report this review

I had never heard of Erik Tait before this lecture; it was great. You can tell that he puts a lot of thought in how to present his magic in a way that could entertain a formal audience. His “add two and divide by spade” line had me laughing each time and may result in me actually using the criss-cross force. Every routine he taught is worth learning - no filler here. 5 stars!

Short and sweet Report this review

I've been waiting to see this for way too long. Erik is one of my favorite magicians, and this lecture only strengthens this feeling. Card lovers can find a lot of stuff here: Impromptu stuff, very little setup stuff, easy stuff, and knuckle-busting stuff. This is a very varied lecture on the beautiful art of card magic.

Yes, this is short. But everything here is super workable. And Erik's teaching is great as always, and the thinking behind the routines is even better. Everything is so well structured and psychologically thought through, and this is a great lesson in thinking about it.

This is a very good lecture and you should see it.
