"I have performed Viewed ESP Prediction hundreds of times and it never fails to get a great reaction. The secret is very cool and Simone's teaching will help you learn this in no time. I HIGHLY recommend it."-Shaun Dunn

"Osterlind has created a great effect here that falls between a drawing prediction and an ESP matching effect. With Simone’s great teaching, I picked this up in just a few minutes and I can’t wait to try it out!" -Dee Christopher

"Very straightforward . Easy to do. Terrific for the beginner, and complexity can be added depending on the user's skill."- Marc Salem

Here's how crazy this trick is:

1. THEY choose how many cards to use.

2. THEY deal the cards into piles.

3. Finally based PURELY on their intuition, THEY choose cards one by one from WHICHEVER pile they want, and INCREDIBLY, their instincts were 100% correct. The cards match your prediction PERFECTLY.

Meh. Sorry Mr. Osterlind. Report this review

I feel weird giving 3 stars to an Osterlind trick. That in itself is a compliment, as his past tricks have set such a high bar for his future tricks. Unfortunately, no one's perfect. Even Jordan missed shots. I think this is one of those. It's a decent trick, just not awesome. It's not a game-winning slam dunk. More like a first quarter free throw.

I'm a little stumped why so many people have this trick 5 or even 4 stars. Sorry guys... I have to be honest in expressing my opinion here... I can give this a glowing 5 stars. I just can't. I really wish I could.

I believe an semi-experienced mentalist will at least have a general idea of what's going on. If you can't figure it out, by all means get this trick. Just don't expect to have your socks blown off or your mind blown up.

The presentation, to me, was really boring and dry. What I do appreciate was that it was a genuine reaction, not some dramatic coached-up version. Still, I think that, if this trick were my trick, I personally wouldn't have released this trick until I had a presentation that did it some justice. There is a part where she moves the spectators card from one spot to the next. To me, this was (whether or not it was important to the trick or not, I won't say) suspicious and distracting if nothing else. I feel that this one correction ended up turning this from "magic" to a "trick". In presenting a trick, one must be careful about any subtleties... this one move, in my option, throws this off the tracks.

Simone does a fine job explaining the trick, but she couldn't keep my attention. To be honest, I actually started to fall asleep in the middle and had to back it up. Again, it was simply just a boring trick.

This underwhelming trick will not be in my repertoire. It's a good trick to learn as a beginner mentalist as it will help you understand the thinking of a mentalist. Otherwise, don't buy this unless you drink some Red Bull first. (Methaphorically speaking. That stuff is really bad for you so don't take it literally. Haha!)

Sorry Mr. Osterlind. I look forward to your next trick.

New application for old method Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on June 6th, 2019
I wish I could explain the method so that you can say, "Oh, right, I should have known!" Which is another way of saying, you've probably seen this before. What's new here is how cleverly this is put into action, and how well it is hidden. I didn't see it coming. For the record, no crediting of any kind is offered here,

This is a great trick for beginners looking to go to "the next level." It is almost self-working, but you do need to have a little bit of audience control skill, and just the slightest little bit of memorization. Namely, you need to remember what the prediction is! Sleights? Hardly any. More of a common utility move, and to be fair it's actually optional. An easy move or two is taught, but you probably have others in your arsenal you are comfortable with.

Optional further memorization: In the video, just as I was thinking, "Too bad you can't repeat this to the same crowd," Ms. Turkington then explains how you CAN repeat this to the same crowd, with a different result. This is a big plus.

My biggest reservation is with the plot/presentation. This isn't a mind-reading effect. As presented, asking the spectator to use intuition, doesn't quite make sense to me, matching it with your prediction. It sounds like "I predict you will use your intuition in this way." That just sounds off.

That doesn't change the effect/method so much, but I think the presentation can be souped up into something stronger, into one of those effects like "Do you believe in the power of suggestion? I have a prediction here that I am sending to you..." that sort of effect. Maybe, "I'm able to see the future, and what I see is..." this prediction.

Of course, your mileage may vary. I always think it is great when you can take an effect and put your own spin on it, which is true here. As it is, it's unclear of this is an eerie bit of mind reading, a prediction of the future, a "suggestion" effect... but this probably does not matter at all to the layman.

You Can't Go Wrong! Report this review

Effects that originate with Richard Osterlind are uniformly time-tested, reliable, and impactful. Viewed ESP Prediction (which is also present on one of Richard's own DVDSs) is an extremely powerful effect, and virtually self-working save for a very brief set-up.

This effect alone is reason enough to purchase a deck of ESP cards if you don't already have one. (If you search for "Bicycle ESP Cards," you will find options for red and blue decks. As a full ESP deck is only 25 cards, you may want to buy two in order to end up with something that looks like a full deck as used in Viewed ESP Prediction.)

Highly recommended!

Nice...! Report this review

I assumed this was going one way, but when the how-to came I was pleasantly surprised and fooled. The great thing about this routine is that it happens in the spectator's hands and has all the appearances of being completely in their control at all times.

Simone Turkington even goes above and beyond by offering up instructions on a couple of essential utility moves that can be used in countless applications.

You don't need to use ESP cards, but I think it would really help sell the presentation.

Fun, fun stuff - and at this price it is an absolute steal...

Straightforward but lacks a real punch Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on June 6th, 2019
This is a neat trick, quite easy to do and is well taught. For me it lacks any real logic, particularly in the way the final 5 cards are seemingly arbitrarily arranged, under the careful direction of the magician. As a result it lacks a real WOW finish.
Like other reviewers I have known it for years thro Osterlind's superb DVDs. However for the above reasons I have not performed it.

The method is even cooler than the effect Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on June 6th, 2019
I thought I knew what was going on when I watched the performance, but I was wrong! The participant really can put their finger down on either pile. It’s not “magician’s choice”. I was really pleased when I saw the actual method.

I don’t use ESP cards. But this method could be used to predict a hand of regular cards.

Simone is a natural teacher. And she adds some additional instruction, including how to reset instantly for another group of spectators that maybe saw the outcome of a performance they walked up to in the middle. Simone’s method allows for instant reset, with a totally different outcome.

I really love this effect and especially the method. Great job, Simone. Thank you for sharing.

Nice clean ESP prediction Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on June 7th, 2019
I thought I knew how this worked, but I was wrong, this is clever and I doubt many knowledgeable magicians will know this “ exact” method.
This is easy and could be worked immediately.
Clear teaching , well worth knowing for a low priced download .

Great for Beginners Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on June 6th, 2019
What you see in the demo video is what you get. Almost self-working, easy to do mentalism. The spectator truly makes all the choices freely. She teaches you how to instantly repeat the effect with a different outcome, as well as some false cuts & shuffles. You'll be able to perform this within minutes of watching the short video. A bargain at this price.

It’s simple, easy and effective Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on June 6th, 2019
This prediction is something that with very minimal practice you will add to your repertoire almost immediately. No difficult sleights, no arts and crafts, nothing added to the deck, if you can shuffle a deck of cards you can do this prediction. The spectator performs most of the trick by themselves and they totally make all the choices so they are really in control of the outcome. Yet with all the various outcomes that are possible, you have correctly and perfectly predicted their final choices. This is perfect for any beginner and also great for any experienced performer no matter what your skill level is, you will be doing this very shortly after watching the video. What you see in the trailer is exactly what is being done - no cuts to lead you astray to what you will actually be performing in real time. Simone also teaches a way of repeating this for another person with a different prediction should some of the same spectators be watching again. Nice! For under five bucks this is a no brainer to purchase.
