I absolutely love this trick...the reactions I get are just hilarious. The one small drawback is clothing, but I already wear sweatshirts that work for the trick. I got this trick down within the hour. Thanks Penguin Magic!!!!!!

This is a great trick, i got it when i was about 10 and hated it. though recently i ordered the bat and tried the raven again. wow was i surprised i dont know what hit me but this is one the best tricks i own. i would recommend it to anyone. but if you live in a hot place like california or somthing i would not buy this:). i get so many reactions from this.

If you don't already own the Raven, then this is the best way to go. The original Raven comes with some of this stuff, but the real bonus is that you get the DVD teaching you all of the moves, and you get the steel core quarter which is crucial to the performance of the Raven. This is the best, and most visual way to vanish a coin off of a spectator's hand, or even make the coin change (from a nickel to a penny for example). If you've seen David Blaine perform this, then you'll know what a great trick it is.

I got this as a birthday gift about 3 1/2 years ago. This was "my 1st pro trick", and my favorite 'til this day. I've gotten a lot of tricks and routines since, but the RAVEN ranks as the best. The vanish is so pure and so clean, you will even fool yourself. I would recommend you buy the deluxe kit to get a good understanding on what effects and handling that's best for your routine. It's simply the best coin vanish on the market for beginners and experts. You can reset your RAVEN in 5 seconds or less. You can produce and vanish with the RAVEN. Trust me, when you first preform it for someone, they will look at you and say " how'd you do that". Don't wait to get yours, order NOW!!!!!!!

This is my first magic purchase.

#1 disappointment is that you can't repeat the magic immediately. You have to go off somewhere to setup again. What if the audience want you to do it again?

But besides that, nice effect.

i suggest getting this kit its really good!

Pros:
- awesome vanishes
- jaws drop
- inspectable
- short or long sleeves

Cons:
- sometimes makes noise
- blank half shell wont fool anyone
- will get stuck on sleeve sometimes

overall its a good kit and i would suggest getting it.

heres what I did to mine

When I used it with the felt a little bit it sartted to get a little fuzzy so I pulled all the felt off and then I dipped it in whats called plastic dip!
Its that stuff thay put on handles on tools!
just google it!
and if you decide to use it please do it outside!

The raven is a great product... As for the deluxe kit here proposed, it gives some neat items. The raven provided here is NOT the raven with a reel. Since both are the same price I'd think about it. I didn't notice both were the same price when I bought this and I regret it. It is my belief that the elastic can create more disturbance in the clothing than the reel. You would have to see what people who actually used the reel version (http://www.penguinmagic.com/specialorderproduct.php?ID=6824) have to say about it. The elastic is built to last still, I can't say about the reel.

On negative points about the raven, some sowing of the elastic to the felt piece has a little edge which sticks to the raven brake. I would suggest getting non fero-magnetic hairpins to hookup the brake also.

Noise-wise certain vanishes cannot be done in a silent room even with all precautions. Shells provided are much more silent than full coins.

Penguin magic has started selling some PK putty. Its a nice product that combines well with the raven.

It took me a while to start using the raven but I think I'll use it quite a lot.

So thats it. I would have given the product a 5 if it were not for the slight details above mentionned. Still these problems are minor once you get more experienced.

This product took me 1 hour of careful reading and preparation. Once that was done I could summarily do most of the effects. With several more hours of practice I was able to do all this more fluidly. Buy this if you want to do awesome vanishes. This CAN gather dust in your shelf if you dont take the time to learn it. In my case it took me 6 months to convince myself to try it. Shame on me! Its not that hard and I could have learned it back then :).

I really liked this tick once I got the hang of it but It is a bit hard to find a good shirt for it. You need one that isn't relly flimsy but dosent have to be really strong. I liked the video a lot because Chuck is a pretty good techer and shows you how to do some pretty cool tricks. If you are thinking of getting a raven definetly get this!
