There's a reason why, in the video, Joshua Jay performs this with a group of friends. That's really the only practical environment in which this would work. In the real world, a stranger is very unlikely to let you handle their wallet, and if they do, they're probably not going to be especially comfortable letting you doing so, which adds an unwanted layer of tension and scrutiny to the effect.

I concede that the thinking and structure behind the routine are absolutely outstanding... and yes, it will likely fool and floor a lot of people... provided of course those people are your friends who don't mind handing you their wallet. Seriously... who wants to go up to a stranger and say, "Can I have your wallet?"

I like the idea of letting the spectator grab and tear the corner off. They hold the corner and it matches up at the very end.

Unlike other versions where you have to switch the corner before you give it to them, this one is great. it also resets in seconds so you can do it again with another borrowed bill.

His vanish does take a bit of work, but it is worth it, especially for people like me that don't wear sleeves when performing.

Heres the thing it is a great method and idea for the switch, but you have to be careful reaching into someone elses wallet. Having said that...it can be done with great success. Just build a relationship with your audience, get a laugh, and youre good to go! Solid method, great ending, just a bit impractical at times.

This is a PURE amazing; a fantastic method to a BRILLIANT effect. This really is as close to PURE magic as you can get, and it doesn't matter HOW many times you watch the demo, you will NEVER figure this out.

Joshua Jay personally showed me this back before his lecture in 2008... I was fooled 100 times on the demo, and then in person. He taught it at the lecture and I was AMAZED. So then I got the download; AMAZED again.

I HIGHLY recommend this, and Joshua is probably THE most creative magician of our time. This is a CRAZY method that isn't very hard to do and something I WILL be doing a LOT.

People freak out when you rip their money. It requires really great audience control, and it just isn't worth it in my opinion. Spend your money elsewhere!

Well, I think the method is clever. But I am shocked no one has ever been punched in the face while doing it.

The idea of the trick is very good. However, even as an advanced magician, there is way too much room for mistakes. Also, on anybody I've performed it on, they have never let me, the magician [Why would you let a magician touch your wallet?], touch their wallet.
