If you wan't to learn card magic then this is the DVD for you.
You can even make your own magic with this DVD (Diffrent card handling to make a new color change effect).
And for penguin I think all the costumers like DVD with Live performence.
So what is a good DVD?:
First of al the trick so in a good order.
Trick demo in studio.
Trick demo in public/street/ live.
Trick Handling Tips.
What to do if the tricks go wrong with all the audience around. (this one is very important).
Live/ public/ street demo from the trick that wasn't performed good so we can see how the experts are dealing with that.
A good teacher is a must like:
Why them? They can explain and teach you the trick. (they make it easy to learn).
They are funny.
So penguin for in the future DVD's this is a must for us.

This DVD is a well-intentioned DVD, but misses the mark, for me, on many occasions. Some of the tricks are angle-restricted, meaning you have to have a certain angle relationship with the audience, and that isn't always practical. The concepts in the video are right on, but I found some of the tricks impractical for day-to-day magic. Some of the hints and points are well worth the rest though, so it's a tough call, for me.2 of 2 magicians found this helpful.

Many have reported this is a beginner DVD. And yes, maybe it is. I am new to color changes so guess would be branded a beginner in this area. I have played around with changes I have run across over the years but never perfected them so figured a DVD would be helpful.1 of 1 magicians found this helpful.
To my disappointment, Jay is not the best teacher, or at least it was not edited that way.
The DVD is more of a how to rather than in depth instruction.
Proper instruction would have been to assume the user knows nothing on the subject and go into the fine points of whata beginner might encounter and how to avoid it. (Like avoiding clicks or flash or fine points of the place to look like a wave of the hand . This DVD pretty much just goes through the basics so not really a teaching session.
Many of the changes are great for CAMERA, one on one or distance with audience in front. There are more changes than not that look good on video but I find it hard to believe anyone uses this in a normal performance. THe changes that are one handed would have major angle issues if you can not control your audience.
The Dirty Work section is major failure. It is not helpful with the hands blocking most of the moves.
Conclusion, for $5 and if you are new to changes, it might be helpful but do not expect to become a master at changes from this. Honestly many of these can sadly be found exposed on the net and in some cases taught better. Sorry Jay.

I found the format of the DVD, i.e. going from instructions, to dirty work, to bonus, and such to be a little annoying. On both DVD players, the DVD had trouble switching back and forth. Whoever designed the menu for this DVD was trying too hard to be cool; which for me, resulted in difficulty navigating through the sections.1 of 1 magicians found this helpful.
Jay is a good magician (5 stars) and an OK teacher (3 stars) on the Color Change DVD. I did like his Self Tying Shoelace DVD and felt his teaching on this video was excellent.
All in all, you should have this DVD in your arsenal of stuff.
Beginners only, mediocre teaching Report this review

Noblezada is a low energy teacher and he's not a master of all the changes. He flashes during spin change and has a poor top change. He doesn't cover why you'd want to use each change. I suggest buying Dan Harlan's "Tarbell 25: Sleight of Hand with Cards" instead.
Some changes not in Tarbell:
Snap Change is a popular modern card change.
Flip Flop Change is terrible -- don't do it.
Twirl Change is a popular modern card change. David Blaine does it. Noblezada credits Jay Sankey but this predates him.
Spin Change is similar to Twirl but it has a flourish and you can change the card's back -- quite nice.
Strange Change is misdirection. Anyone can come up with their own version.

Great collection of changes, ranging in skill set from easy to medium. Nice bonus is teaching, double turnover, second deal, and top change. Great variety and a couple I had never seen or heard of before.

The teaching was a little rushed i thought. He didn't really go into a lot of detail. Basically it went something like this, do this and that done. I went to youtube and i saw videos of people teaching how to do card changes and they were much better. They went into a lot of detail and the teaching wasn't rushed like this. I learned better from a free youtube video.
Don't get me wrong, Jay still rocks. He comes up with great ideas foe effects. But this dvd could have been better.
