This is a unique take for a technique to read someone's mind. The way it works is very deceptive and it is everything that it claims to be in the demo. It is impromptu and can be done pretty much anywhere at any time. The reason that I gave it four stars is because of the presentation behind the effect. I remember thinking the Matt's presence in the demo is a little bland, but it really isn't. (you also get the whole performance on the DVD) The trick can only presented in so many ways but any way you do it, it will hit hard.
But by far, my favorite part of the DVD would be the Bonus trick and out that Matt provides on the DVD. Both are hard hitting and look simply amazing when done correctly. Again the method for these is basically impromptu and very simple. Overall, the teaching and method for this is great I would definitely check it out. Did this review help you?
This isn't really practical enough for my personal use, I much prefer Robert Smith's Universal Impression. However I can see why this would attract good reviews but if you're a walkaround magician I would guide you to Universal Impression rather than Technique.

This effect utilizes the most simple method to its full capacity. Masking it in a way that makes it totally out of the question as (to the lay-person) a viable method. And the versatility of this effect is huge. From cards, words, pictures, even sentences, this is definitely a piece of mentalism gold!

I couldn't help but give this trick a good rating because it is really a very big tool you can use for mentalism as well as a trick by itself. However it will require a lot of practice and I guess personaly I was not willing to put in the time and effort. However I will keep it in mind for the future if I am performing more mentalism as it is a very powerful effect with an almost bullet proof method.
To compensate for times when the method doesn't work Mello takes you through a great tool known as the one ahead method which is a staple in mentalism. Over all good production, I wasn't a big fan of all the mellow music and clips of Matt strolling through a field but I guess that was the style he was after. Did this review help you?
I love this technique, it is extremely useful when you dont have too much on hand and people ask you to do something without cards and coins, i have tested this out on the streets, at the fair, in a bar, and people have been blown away, for the people who say get the impression pads, you are comparing apples to oranges, this is true mentalism at its finest, no gimmicks, 100% impromptu. Just you, the person, a pen, paper, and the technique, yes its easy as heck, but it does require REAL WORLD PRACTICE, to perfect it, its not something you can sit and practice by your self, you have to go out there and perform.

This has become my anytime effect, I carry a notebook and sharpie and I can read peoples minds it is about 90% Just takes practice and a willing spectator. The Bonus billet info was nice addition. Reveal any Number people write down. Get a larger sharpie to assist this effect and artist pad is the best.

This is not a method for everyone. The conditions you need to setup for the spectator. I used this in a parlor setting and it rose well. There are just so many methods to doing this exact effect but this one is the cleanest and requires no setup. All you need is a bigger notepad and pen and you need audience management. This is not for the faint of heart.
Matthew Mello takes care of you hear and doesn't leave you stranded to were you cannot perform this effect. The reason it is not for everyone is because it takes practice and it is not easy. You might need a good imagination but this is an amazing method for the plot. Great work. Did this review help you?

I was utterly wowed with the preview for this DVD. When I actually watched the DVD, it was a little annoying how the preview was a little misleading. However, the technique shown is something I have not ever done before in any of my other effects. It definitely is a useful technique and effect that you can implement into other mentalism tricks you have. The only complaint I have is that the DVD was too short for my taste; it could have gone a little more detail into performance psychology. Nonetheless, the reactions that you get for this trick is strong. Be forewarned, however, that this trick will take plenty of practice to be flawless at it. It's not something you can watch once and go out to perform to a crowd immediately, but then again no magic effects should be like that.

Matthew has taken a well worn technique and "extended" it. Face it, the idea is from Corinda but whoda thunk to work from the other end? Matthew did! Ingenuity and originality is what we strive for and Matthew has given working pros that extra added element.
