About Illusion EFX I got my start as a professional magician as an illusionist. First in talent competitions, then a circus and finally cruise ships and resorts. I was always looking for something new and different to add to my act - however I was constantly faced with the challenge of not enough time or money to do everything I wanted. That's when I started thinking about practical solutions that could be put together quickly and inexpensively. My first books (Solo-X and Illusion F/X) dealt with these problems. Later on I published the Illusion Impact series (Voodoo Box, Specter Cabinet, etc.) and presented more easy-to-build solutions. Yet people kept asking me to do a video so they could see ideas in action. This is finally it... Illusion EFX features seven illusions involving everything from mini motorcycles to audience members. this is just what i wanted a simple cheap dvd teaching how to make some of the best jaw dropping
illusions at home for next to nothing. the dvd teachs so well that even the most unskillful
illusionist can make there own props and do so at a very very very cheap cost love the dvd

This is a must buy if your not sure if you want to buy it or not, just get it. Most of the items you
can get at a local store. (Walmart was the cheapest place where I got all my stuff). There is only
one item that i will need to order online. It should be cheap. BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!

I'm a little disappointed with this particular DVD. The effects are great, the instructions are
clear & easy to understand. However, for me, any type of illusion work that relies on the
participation of stooges/assistants is just glorified trickery.
I don't like having to trust others with my secrets nor do I feel secure with having others be responsible for the success/failure of an illusion. This DVD does have a lot to offer in ways of understanding the psychology of one's audience. The illusions demonstrated in this DVD are best suited for a team performance. Did this review help you?

Illusion EFX works well to suggest cost effective ideas for stage magic to help out budding
magicians. however, if you have been doing magic for a while, many of these tricks may already be in
your act, or variations on them. but Andrew Mayne really breaks down large stage productions and
renders them accessible for the younger generations.

This DVD was pretty cool. You aren't necessarily getting what you might think though. The illusions
aren't very stable but they still look good and can get you off the ground. Plus you can modify a
bunch of these to work a little differently or to look more professional. IN one effect ANdrew uses
a cardboard brick wall. Obviously that won't last very long. The performances were a little sketchy
but the explanations were in good detail and he explains every nuance that can help you. Plus he's a
great teacher. I would say if you don't have much to spend your money on or want to branch out a
little bit, go for it.

Some great ideas on this DVD that I can see using in my act. By the videos that I have watched of
his...he always gets to the point...not a lot of fluff.
Which I like. I am pretty sure there will be some things you will want to use from this DVD. Totally worth purchasing. Did this review help you?

Andrew Mayne is probably one of the most ingenius people in magic today; I've brought every one of
his tricks/books and illusions and each one is just brilliant. This is probably his best DVD because
it contains a very generous amount of illusions and shows you how to build each one quite easily and
with a small budget. The only downside is that each illusion does end up looking a bit 'home-made'
but if that doesn't bother you (or if you just want to know how illusions are done) then I would
suggest you get hold of this!

This is cool because if you do not have lots of money to spend on stage tricks you can make your
own. I like that it uses cheap props, and the reactions are cool. You will ahve to buy some other
props if you want to do all the effects on this dvd but it is very cool. Add some cool effects for
your stage shows. Add to Cart.

TITLE and Creator: Illusion EFX by Andrew Mayne
Effect: Quite a few, and all great! One of the effects involves passing through someones body. Price: Pretty good, but it costs A LOT more to make the effects included. Teaching: Andrew Mayne does a great job teaching, and the dvd has 3D blueprints to show you. Quality of materials(if it is a gimmik etc): The gimmicks you need to make/buy are incredibly expensive (for me anyway), and in some cases hard to get, so it brings the rating down quite a bit Difficulty: The effects will need quite a bit of rehearsal, but it shouldn't be REALLY hard. Applications: I will DEFINATELY, Put this in my show, whenever i get one. Overall Rating: 7.5/10 Did this review help you?
