Alright, I'll tell you straight out. This is some of the most visual magic you'll ever see. It's
pretty awesome what Calen has been able to accomplish on this DVD.
Calen's teaching is
amazing. He goes in depth with explanations, different angles, and just makes learning it pretty
easy. He's by far one of the best magicians on this site for explaining his material. It's clear
and concise and it makes everything very easy to learn.
There is some extra stuff you
need to get. BUT nothing too crazy. It's just some essentials to make the tricks really awesome.
In all honesty, Calen is a genius for the stuff he's put on this DVD. I mean, it's
seriously crazy what he's done.
I would highly recommend buying this DVD. It's really
well done and Calen is just the man. Buy now!

I liked Function 9. While quite a few of the effects were a little impractical, I can see myself
performing some of the tricks explained.
VGH (A and B): I wasn't wild about this one.
Basically, it's an impromptu transport routine based on Paul Harris' Grasshopper. I didn't find it
very believable and the routine was a bit knacky, but I liked the plot of the first routine. 7/10
Pen in Bottle: I loved this. The gimmick requires an odd prop, but it isn't hard to make. I
love the bottle production from the shoe based on "Earth Shoes" and the routine is insanely visual.
Transport: A good and gutsy routine using a rubber band and a borrowed cellphone. Also
requires a gimmick. I might use this in the right situation. 8/10
Transport Bonus: A quick
and casual ring on rubber band routine. I liked this simple routine a lot. 8.5/10
Suspended: Requires a gaff I don't own. I didn't really look into this. It looks okay, I guess.
Loaded (Card under Shoe, Card in hat) Of the two variations, I preferred the hat
version more. Not great or groundbreaking routines. I probably won't do these. 5.5/10
Friction: A borrowed bill penetrates a rubber band. A little knacky and I think there are better
methods of accomplishing the same effect. That being said, I did like some of the subtleties and
enjoyed the routine. 7.5/10
Sugar Free: A piece of gum visually vanishes and appears in
your mouth. The gimmick you make takes a long time to create. While I like the effect, it's not very
practical and is pretty difficult to preform. You need to be dedicated and find a good situation to
perform this in. 6/10
Transit: A rubber band moves from finger to finger with a wave of
your hand. This one was good and is definately well worth the practice. A gimmick is also involved.
Calen did a great job structuring this effect. I will use this. 9/10
Overall, the DVD was
great and well worth my money. Transit, Transport (and the bonus), and Pen in Bottle are definitely
routines I will put my time into and perform. Add to cart!

Great collection of effects.
The card effects went straight into my routines. The take
on Paul Harris's grasshopers is awesome and the Loaded effect gets as a good a reaction as
Williamson's Deck to Pocket. Its fun magic and you enjoy performing.
The rubber band magic
is excellent visual magic and links well with the Garcia linking bands.

Function(nine) was my my first product I have ever ordered(along with DRESSCODE), on Penguin Magic,
and I have to say... it's AMAZING! before Calen teaches you, it shows what the trick is looked like
when it is performed. When he starts teaching you the trick, he doesn't rush through it. After he
explains it, it goes to different camera angles, incase you learn better from a different angle. He
gives pointers abou the trick when he's done teaching you how it's done, and the best part, the
tricks are great! If you don't have Fuction(nine) on your list, I implor you to do so! Click: add to

There is only so much that can be said about Calen Morelli's Function(Nine). WOW, AMAZING, VISUAL,
are the few words that I can manage to spew from my mouth as I watched this DVD.
effects are visual, the tutorials are explicit and in depth. Calen makes learning these effects easy
for beginners and pros alike.
The few small purchases that need to be made, cost less than
$5 ( I am Canadian so thats under $2.50 for everybody down south) at any under $1 store.
Function(Nine) is a must buy for anybody looking to add some amazing and long lasting
effects to their street or closeup routine. You will in no way be disappointed with your purchase,
as it pays off with these nine great effects.

I can't see how you won't find a few things you'll want to do here. All the effects are amazing and
even if you just want to do one trick on the whole DVD it would be worth it. There is a lot of magic
teaching here and great thinking. For that alone, it is worth it. You'll be inspired even if you
don't use an effect on here, but you probably will. Calen could have made a bunch of one trick DVDs
but instead he gives you a lot of magic for the money.

This 2 DVD set is one of the best I have ever bought before. Calen is a great teacher, and the
effects taught on this set are some of the most visual. He gives you ideas on what you can say
during the routine as well as showing you his routines. It's amazing. I just wish penguin had a
Download option, but you can't beat penguin's service. They sent me M&Ms with mine! :D

The tricks are good.
He can perform it good and you can see how he is thinking about magic (how
he thinks and then create the magic/gimmick). The way of thinking/ making the gimmicks reminds me of
GUM by Jeff Prace.
And yes not all effects are realy powerfull. But there are some that
stands out. Just watch the trailer and if you like it then buy the DVD.
1 of the tricks
have a high risk. If you are a beginner and can't manage your audience then you will fail the
You need to buy some stuff to create a few gimmicks.
Tip for 1 effect you need
loops so add loops in your cart if you don't have one.
Calen Morelli can teach you the
tricks but not in the fun way like Daniel Carcia. So If he explain it you will understand it but you
will get a little bit bored. But that is what he can improve if he creates another DVD. Because his
live performences are good even if the audience aren't saying anything but is only looking amazed by
the effect he ads a reaction of its own to make the audience react.
So a very good DVD and
I believe that Calens teaching skills will improve by time.

I got this DVD about a week ago, and it has been insane. in only took me a couple of minutes to make
the gimmicks, and Calen's DVD is a hard-hitter.My favorite is Loaded 2.0
Get this DVD, you
