The Three Card Monte plot is easily one of the most commercial routines in all of card magic. It would be hard to find a more magical card routine that only uses three cards.

Shaun Robison's take on Three Card Monte takes an already commercial routine and makes it easier for the spectator to follow and way easier for the magician to perform. All the phases in the Money Card routine use moves that a beginner could perform and the basics of the routine can be learned within minutes of opening the package. Like Shaun says in the demo "if you got hands then you can perform this trick". The cards practically do all the work. The Money Card is a very special Monte routine that has a huge kicker ending where the Queen disappears and found in her place is the money. The Money Card gimmick is very clean and allows you to perform an easy version of this classic. Included with the routine on the DVD are all the necessary gimmicks and an additional routine using the money card gimmick.

One of the best packet tricks Report this review

Excellent trick and excellent card case! I just love that it just seems like a folded up piece of newspaper and yet it is a deceptive little contraption. Very good.

The newspaper style wallet is a bit strange...not common. The pocket card is not glued very well and will probably peel apart after being used a lot.

Not bad, but pricey.. Report this review

The effect of this trick isn't bad, but the real magic is how the manufacturer extracts three times what the effect is worth. I got mine from the cool box, so it was only about twice as much what it should sell for, and mine came ready to be re-glued, which was easy for me, but it was just the idea that it needed to be done. My guess is at the price they ask for it, they sit around, get old and start coming un-glued. Aldo Colombini has a simular effect, though not on the "Monte" theme, called Wild Card Cash that is very simular in the cash production. It can be purchased for more than a third cheaper than this effect. With that said, I like the take on this effect and there is a place for it in my large collection of magic. Buy it if money is easy for you to come by, or buy Colombini's Wild Card Cash if money is a little tighter for you.

Awesome ending Report this review

This has one of the best endings to a Monte routine out there. It's quick, easy to follow, easy reset and you get one of the coolest handmade gimmicks I've seen in a while which you can use for other effects as well.

I'm a fan of multiple methods for repeat performances and this is a winner to follow up Skinner's Ultimate Three Card Monte.

Enjoy!

The main effect isn't the best Report this review

While the Monte style effect Shaun teaches is interesting, I have to say the best way to perform this trick is one of the other methods he teaches at the end. In it, you have a spectator choose a card, lose it in the deck, then you tell them you'll give them twenty bucks if you can't find their card in a second. With no slick moves, you cut the deck and a folded twenty is sitting there. Turning over the card it's sitting on, the spectator sees their card. To me, that's a much better effect than the Monte routine.

The gimmick is good, though the newspaper wallet included isn't the best. The cards have a tendency to slide out the top if you don't handle it right. Still, it's nice of him to include at least the basic wallet so you don't have to go buy something else to make it all work.

Not my style, but okay. Report this review

Okay, heres the deel: Wherever the card goes, it returns to the top. At the end, it changes into your business card.

It's not my style. If you are an illusionist, it is okay, but not if your a magician.

Here is the big issue: It cannot be seen from the side. In the demo, the man sees it from the side, and is still fooled. That's false advertising.

If you do the 3 card monte, than get this.
