I really like scratch. It's good because it gives the bill switch/change a reason for happening and it's your bill so why would you want to change it back. Another thing I've learned is that if presented right people don't see it coming because everything is motivated. The really nice is that your completely clean before anyone knows something is going to happen. I personally don't preform the other tricks on the DVD but that doesn't demenish their strength. This trick has lots of possibilities.

As magicians, I think we sometimes become jaded and forgot how well simple, novel effects will play of lay people. I'll admit when I first saw the demo for Scratch, I wasn't that excited about it. You can use it as a bill change...I already do a few bill changes...so what? You can use it as a card revelation...I already know dozens of card revelations..so what? There's also a lottery type effect on the DVD (which I probably won't do). Well, the "so what?" is that lay people love Scratch! I only bought it because I had a big order and for thought "what the hey." I'm so glad I bought it. I can keep a couple of these in my wallet so I'm ready to go with just a few seconds of prep at any time.

Scratch is easy to perform and while it requires refills they are very inexpensive and as I stated earlier, lay people love it! High recommended!

Let's get one thing straight. "Scratch," by Chad Long is a utility device, not an effect in itself, meaning that there is no such trick as "Scrach." This is a good thing, though, as it leaves creative performers with a lot more flexibility.

Like any good utility device, it comes with some suggested applications. My favorite is "Chicago Scratch," Long's version of the Chicago Opener. The DVD is of decent quality and it doesn't drag on and on. I also like that the three suggested applications are unique, with different moves and presentations, not just three variations of the same thing.

Finally, it's always a plus when refills are offered at a reasonable price, as in this case. Although, the original comes with enough devices for nearly 100 performances, so it will be a while before I need to pick up a refill pack.

Chad Long's "Scratch" is awesome. The dvd teaches three routines. My favorite is "Chicago Scratch." It is easy to perform adn gets great reactions. I highly recommend this effect.

Scratch is a lot of fun to perform. In todays world of Scratch Tickets for lotteries, this routine really attracts some attention. i like the card routine as well as the bill routine. I am also working on another idea which was not suggested on the DVD. This routine has a lot of possibilities.

Fun and very easy to do. The video explanation is clear and to the point. I had a friend in the hospital and used Scratch to have him select then scratch off his own "get well card" from the deck. It brought a smile to his face.

Brilliant as always from Chad. Thankfully the refills are very cheap because i will use this all the time!
