I enjoyed reading this book, but don't think that you will learn tricks in it. Yes there are a few tricks but they arn't very good because they were meant for a layman to read. It tells about many famous performers in the past and some things that they did. Overall, a fun book to read, I enjoyed it.

I didn't plan to read it in one day Report this review

I received my order from Penguin about noon 4/19, I started looking over Mr. Blaine's book and decided to read a chapter. Well after reading two chapters I put it down for a couple of hours, then picked it up for another chapter, long story short, I finished the book a few hours ago.

I have never read a single book in one day, ever. I hardly ever read an entire magazine article. But I couldn't let this book go unfinished. I found the book extremly interesting and wanted to learn more about David Blaine and what inspires him. I was disapointed when I finished, I had to look for a hidden chapter, I wanted more.

I feel compeled to add, that I never take the time to review a product (even things I realy like).

Thanks
KV

This was an entertaining and encouraging book to read. If you like David Blaine, this book is for you. It's part David Blaine biography, part history of magic...and its an excellent read. Do not expect to learn magic or any of David Blaine's secrets in this book, as it doesn't really teach any real magic. It's a good book, and I like it a lot. B_Magic's Score: A

Get this book. Its awesome. It has fun stories about his experiences great suggestions. As you read it, you feel like you are having a conversation with the man. You will be subtley taught while reading a good book. And it is a good BOOK. Well written, good beat, good spirit. Its filled with pictures, stories, lessons. You want this book, magician or not. For those of you anti-david-blainers out there, i recommend this book more than ever. Let him earn your respect before you publicly bash him jealously. I highly recommend it and hey: it is the ONLY item in the shop that gives you the chance to win one million dollars. I wouldn't pass that up. Would you?

This book was great. This book through diffrent chapters shows how magicians have evolved if you will. From the French magician Robert Houdin to Houdini and then of course to Blaine himeself. The book covers different aspects of Blaine's life, for example how he got into magic, the relationship with his mother and so on.

There aren't many tricks in this book so if you are going to buy it just for the tricks 'don't bother'. There are a few tricks based on math and scientific principles which are quite fascinating. This book is totally inspiring I recommend it highly for any David Blaine fans out there. There is a personal feel to the book it's like if Blaine is speaking to you one on one.

If you want to learn about how magic came around to this day in time then I say buy this book. You will learn many things about famous magicians throughout the years plus everything there is to know about David Blaine. David will teach you some great tricks in this book but most of all you will learn where magic came from.

I hate reading. I only read if i'm forced to by teachers or my mom. Thats why my mom was shocked when I bought this book. Once I started reading this book I couldn't stop. I finished in one night! I recommend this to any one even if they don't do magic. Its one of the best books I've ever read. If you don't buy it right this second, you're dumb! BUY IT!!!!

WOW! You have to read this book! It doesn't just focus on Blaine as he profiles many other magicians throughout time. Mysterious Stranger is such an awesome book. Get into Blaine's head, he's kind of a creepy guy. The book also teaches you some tricks, like how to know someone's card when they pick it OVER THE TELEPHONE!!! That trick is awesome...
