This is some nice, visual magic. The effect is exactly as described. It's ideal for any stand up show (although closer than that might start to be slightly problematic). You need at least one silk to perform this (preferably a very dark color), otherwise you flash the gimmick. It's better with 2.
Now for all the technical details:
Difficulty: This is quite difficult (especially compared to the appearing cane). It takes a fair amount of practice to get the knack.
Reactions: Very good. Good enough for me to start out my kids show with.
Inspectability: It's gone, what is there to inspect? :D You end dirty. The silks are not examinable.
Quality of gimmick: They say it lasts a life time, but I can't vouch for that myself. I could say that it will last a really long time if it isn't abused.
Overall: This is fun to practice and perform from a magicians perspective and entertaining and magical from a spectators. However, this needs to be used correctly. I have the canes worked into my patter in a logical way, that also cleans up the gimmick. If not used correctly, this won't get great reactions from spectators (but is that really any different than most tricks?).
Would I recommend this to most people? Yes, but not everybody. Before buying this, think to yourself 'Would I be able to work this into my show?'. If you can find a logical way to add this to your show it will make a great addition. If not, then this might not be for you (although this is still a fun piece just to practice). So in conclusion, you most likely should BUY IT!

I really don't know why the other review said it was bad. It's GREAT! I Highly Recommend it!

It dents so much you'll be lucky (very) if you can even stretch it out. I'm not sure how Oz does it, he must have a high-tech one.
Its pretty decent Report this review

My grandfather gave me a Fantasio vanishing cane, and I find the quality to be fairly surprising. I read the last review, and thought it was junk. Then I saw it was plastic, and I felt like I would never use it. I couldn't have been more wrong; yes, it MAY dent if you're not careful in the extension (it usually dents due to being twisted too tight), but if you're gentle with it, then you will be fine. The only foible I see in the Vanishing Cane is the noise it tends to make sometimes. The sound can be hidden, but there is always a possibility of it being heard.
All in all, I'm glad to have added theFantasio Vanishing Cane to my repertoire.

Great trick. Just takes some practice, and if your willing to put an hour or so into it, it's a great addition to your show. I suggest walking on stage with this at the begining of your show and vanishing it, and when your ready to leave use an appearing one.
Superb Effect! Report this review

This trick is the bomb. It goes great with the appearing cane. You can make it vanish and then later in the show, you can use the apearing cane to make it come back. Don't forget to pick up some silks. You will need them. ADD TO CART! It's the best stage trick ever!

It's fun to use in a show, But once it's gone you can't bring it back unless you have the appearing cane too. It's too expensive for what you get. They should sell both vanishing and appearing as one set for this amount. Oh well it works I guess, I don't know how long it will work, but anyways, Buy it if you have the money to throw around.
If not get several smaller tricks for the same amount.
