Quinta: A Miracle in Five Parts is the comprehensive guide to creating and performing jaw-dropping mentalism effects using this powerful, flexible utility method. For the first time ever in one place I collect together the latest work on Quinta – how it works, how to perform it in a massive range of situations, alongside a huge swathe of extremely diverse effects, both classic and all new.

Quinta is a robust method for controlling the choices of a spectator – openly, fairly and in a very straightforward way. The method is simple and easy to learn and the appearance is clear and wonderfully deceptive. Once you learn and understand how to do it you’ll begin to unlock thousands of possible new routines and ideas.

Included in the book are around 23 effects and routines that use Quinta, but it seems churlish to brag about how many massively diverse routines are included in a book that explains how to force literally anything, completely propless.

Additionally there is a bafflingly complete Deep Geek Thinking chapter that goes into way too much depth about why Quinta works and how you can use that knowledge to improve your effects and use the Quinta principle to create your own performance pieces from scratch. I also include a range of “modules” throughout the book to help with the process of clicking new routines together. The book even contains a chapter of foolproof methods to deal with errors as you are first learning, minimise their impact or even avoid them completely.

Quinta is suitable for stage and close up and works in all kinds of settings and contexts, strong enough for professional performance and accessible enough for creative everyday use.

The ebook is 171 pages, illustrated throughout and laden with useful information about Quinta (and other stuff). Download it today and put the most powerful new forcing technique out there into your performing arsenal.

I found Quinta to be anticlimactic. I can see one or two plausible uses in my show but it definitely is not going to replace equivoque. When it is performed it feels unnecessary, why count so much to choose one object out of 5?

If you are interested in this, or have something very specific that it could be used for then buy it. If not, save your money.

This technique is not very well known which makes it a total magician fooler. My wife can see a magician's choice from a mile away and this one completely floored her. Like all things, this can be performed blandly or interestingly. It's a killer utility device, right up there with the center tear.

Consider the book over the lecture ... Report this review

As stated elsewhere, this not a replacement for a PROPERLY executed equivoque. However, Quinta is well worth exploring. It provides a system of forcing that can be used to great effect inside a suedo multiple choice routine.

Although Phill has a Penguin Live Lecture in which he includes Qunita, a quick read of the reviews suggests that Quinta is the highlight. I realise that the Lecture costs less than this book, but I recommend you spend the little extra. There is much value in the multitude of routine suggestions and deeper thoughts.

Excellent, novel force that you will use Report this review

Phil has a real worker here, a new force technique that is, quite simply, excellent. In addition, he gives you routine after routine. You can use it impromptu or on stage. No, it won't completely replace equivoque, but if you have to force one of five objects, be they cards, coins, envelopes, or chairs, you will use this technique forever. Sure this is pricey, but it's not really for amateurs. Phil reveals some, but not all, about Quinta on his Live Lecture, and to be quite frank, his presentation sells the technique short. You need this e-book.

Very very clever Report this review

This blows eqivoke out of the water and Phil 's manuscript is very comprehensive and so simple yet so puzzling to laypeople and Magicians who don't know it. The secret is explained in the first small chapter and then Phil has given us 127 pages of routines and plenty of room for your own creativity. Well worth your investment

This is going into my stand up prop-less Mentalism act. While I am certain that it has many uses, it’s probably best For predicting which spectator will be selected. Great way to highlight one person, such as someone having a birthday, at an event.
